Seems to be causing some disruption this one. Trains are stacked up on the bridge over the Tyne Bridge as I crossed it earlier.

Due to a loss of power to the signalling panel, there have been only one arrival and one departure in/out of Newcastle in the last hour. The southbound Flying Scotsman has been held outside the station for an hour and will terminate there.

0710 Leeds-Aberdeen has gone for a trip up the Durham coast line today, nice change of view for the punters
Did it go to Darlington first or did it head off after Northallerton?

According to East Coast it didn't call at Darlington or Durham so my guess is it went along the coast via Yarm.

A driver was called to the Newcastle thunderbird to haul the 6:57 southbound via the coast, but in the event was stood down, and that service left via ECML two and a half hours late.
