I did not realise that it was the media rather than the club who decided such matters, as on Monday morning, the club said there was no truth in this statement.
--- old post above --- --- new post below ---

And the moral of the story is..."Do not believe everything that the BBC says is true"

As far as I'm aware the BBC didn't report it but it was all over social media

It was Sky who initiated the rumours of his sacking. A post on another forum I saw list night indicated LCFC will now most likely take legal action against them.

Sky only reported what Pearson had told them yesterday, he's just been on and didn't deny he was sacked yesterday but said he couldn't say anything else as he'd been told not to.

So he was sacked and today for whatever reason he's been reinstated.

Gary Lineker on Twitter's been implying that one member of the owners's family sacked him and another one reinstated him.

Sky follow the tabloid process of reporting news, 'if you hear a rumour, run with it until it is known to be wrong, or is no longer of interest'.

One such example immediately springing to my mind when the riots at Strangeways Prison took place some years ago and the Manchester Evening News ran three daily editions with the large front-page banner headline...20 DEAD

Of course, there was no truth whatsoever in that.

When Grimsby played (and sadly lost) at Forest Green last Saturday an away fan from Ulceby got strangled by staff at Forest Green for bringing an inflatable football in front of his daughter who was terrified.
The fan said he could breathe. Forest Green said the staff weren't theirs but under contract by an company who they didn't name.

Financial madness runs riot...<(

Sky and BT Sport agree to pay £5.1 billion for the live TV rights of a certain league over the next three years.

Just a small increase that allows for inflation over the current deal...OF 70%...<(<(

Perhaps BBC will respond with a new extended contract for their flagship programme....Bargain Hunt

Who will join me in predicting a sharp rise in the various fees of Sky over the next few months, broadband, TV, homephone etc? Same with BT

BBC paying for the highlights is a better deal

Obscene, truly obscene, the grounds won't improve, the ticket prices will probably still go up, and the football certainly won't improve.

But the players will all get massive increases for no reason other than the clubs have the money to pay it.

Sky's football coverage is second to none but as you say subscription increases are on the way.

Huddersfield Town 1 : 4 Wolverhampton Wanderers

Never before has a scoreline reflected so little about the game in question. 31 shots on goal for the home team and only 10 for the visitors paints more of a picture.

Yep, the scoreline totally unjust of the actual flow of play in this game of which Huddersfield dominated. A freak result, but with the rub of the green going against Wolves recently, it's one that I'll take. Good news for Huddersfield fans is that they look like the most improved team in the league in recent weeks along with Reading (who suffered a shock defeat to Leeds tonight)

Improved? From when we beat you earlier this season?;)
We're just too inconsistent, we generally win by the odd goal but lose by 3 or 4.
I suppose once again this division showed how unpredictable it is...
Have to disagree with you on Reading though, they were terrible against us in the cup. We were poor too, but they were even worse!

League One

Oldham Athletic 2...Swindon Town 1

Oldham scored in the 10th and 11th minutes and created an upset of Swindon's hopes of keeping a very narrow points gap between them in second place and the league leaders.

Oldham now move up to 5th place with this victory.

Stats don't win games though, goals do.

Just about to leave the Holiday Inn on Basingstoke Road totally delighted after last nights win.

Luke Murphy is proving to be a key player and as a team we defended well. Millwall up next

The first half of that game was the worst half of football I have ever watched, Norwood's free kick clearing your empty lower tier behind the goal being the highlight. Still, thanks for your ringing endorsement of us :D

I didn't think much of the Yak. Gosh it cold last night as well.

Nice pubs in Reading though.

Yak's not match-fit yet I guess. I'll maybe see him at the weekend when we get humped by Derby in the FA Cup :)

Which pubs did you go to? Three Guineas by the station has just been refurbed apparently, now owned by Fullers, lovely stuff. There is also a West Berkshire Brewery bar set up behind the East Stand for pints of Good Old Boy, which seems like a splendid idea (if they can serve them properly and quickly)...

It was great win from us last night and two goals came inside 40 sec of each other as when Swindon kick off they lose ball straight away and Wilkinson pick up the ball and nicely slot the ball home, also have to thanks our goalie as he made some good save in second half in which Swindon were getting more into game.

Our next two games are winnable special against Colchester and Leyton Orient so hopeful Oldham can pick up six points in next two matches.

Not surprising, to describe our form as dismal would be kind. Can a new man work with the players we have though? Lerner is still burnt from O'Neill's financial mismanagement and barely invested in the squad

And we totally stole West Brom's thunder :p
