I have a telephone interview on 5th May I wonder if they'll cancel mine too? Fingers crossed they will!

Mine's on the 19th May, I can only imagine that they were squeezed for time and could not get the remaining interviews done before the next assessment stage, but yeah have to agree that receiving an email like that would be welcome news.

I passed my previous stages on the 28th March, but informed them prior to that I'll be away abroad for 2 weeks from the 27th, got email after being on holiday for 2 days saying I was successful and would like to progress me to phone interview on the 19th May, with such a large gap I can only assume they have preset assessment days they have to fill.

Hay Ho, I looking forward to it though as I,ve been following this discussion thread for a while now and there is some sound advice and info on what the phone interview entails.

Due to the situation with me NI number, they just re-booked me from tomorrow onto the last assessment day (currently) which is the 8th of June, so they sure do have a lot of stage 1 days !

Hi Jan77, thank you. I've already passed assessment 1 previously so I'm not sure if I'll be required to stay the whole day and re-do them.

Hi Gurp, there's nothing to worry about with the telephone interview, I can't remember a lot of the questions but they ask things like what do you know about the company and why do you want to be a train driver. The call goes by so quickly.

Gotta say, waiting between stages for results is tortuous . Did stage 2 online on Monday afternoon and waiting for green light ( no pun intended) . Think I've got checking my inbox down to about once every 5 minutes ?????? . Could be a very long few days ?????? .

Hey hope your assessment day goes well and you are successful. Could you please kindly fill us in on the test done on the day when you have completed them. Any clue as to what the DFFT test looks like.

Good luck to everyone on the assesment days, wish you all the best on this great opportunity, Unfortunately I didn't make MTR's high standards on all of the tests on the day, However did meet the national standard for other toc's which is some good news I suppose. Plenty of practice!! Good luck people

So while death by weybridge and shepperton are awful, the reality is for the next two years, it will be Liverpool street to Shenfield :|

I know your pain, a double sheppy is soul destroying. 6 more shifts left as a commercial guard before I start at LOROL

hey Mightyirons77, was all about safety/leadership related questions.
questions like (tell us a time you had to deal with), (when have you been ask to do something that you thought wasnt right).

there was a possible 9-12 question to go through using experince from work or personal life.

Key to impressing them:- always be positive, never show self doubt, always think safety and show your able to follow instructions, make reference to how well you can learn new things in a short period and make them laugh/smile.

just take your time and consider these things and youll do great. Good luck to all

I hate the waiting too, I put my questionnaire in on Monday and haven't heard back yet, they said 10 working days, but the suspense is killing me!!

I've found that I need to take assessment 1 again with them as my previous pass mark wasn't high enough for them.........what happens if I 'fail' this time, will that be my two chances gone, or will future employers look at the most recent 'fail' and not bother with me in future.

If I 'pass' assessment 1 but then not get high enough scores on assessment 2 will it have the same results it 2nd strike and I'm out or is there a possibility that I might score high enough for other TOCs?

I'm a little bit worried about it all now. Any advice would be much appreciated.
