Thanks Sirgerbil for clarifying that. It sounds like a long day at the assessment centre.

Most people find the MMI challenging. Hopefully you did enough to get you through to the final stage.

Yes I have second assessments coming up soon. I am looking forward to it. For some reason I feel I will find the computer tests more challenging than the others. How many applicants in your group got through to the end of the day?

All four in my group made it through to MMI.

Ok. Its possible that you are required to take all tests on the day.

Yeah it is possible you would be doing all of them.

You will be given multiple breaks and also a lunch break before your MMI should you make it that far.

Best of luck with your 2nd assessment, just absorb the instructions given, clarify what you need too and you'll do fine.

Hello sirgerbil. Any news on the mmi yet?

Nothing yet. How about yourself? Your assessment was before mine no?

Well bad news for me. Some good news also...

I failed the VSE but passed the MMI. So as I understand this isn't a "Life" gone. Without a doubt I'm disappointed that I failed the VSE but at least the MMI is done.

Commiserations on not getting through, but the fact it was only the VSE you slipped up on is definitely a plus point. The VSE does not form part of the national assessment, so you have officially passed both stages of the assessment, which for lorol is recognised for 5 years!.

So you can either apply to lorol again after 6 months and just sit the VSE then go straight through to the managers interview, or apply for a trainee train drivers role with another toc straight away (assuming they don't require the VSE, which I understnand is unique to lorol applications).

So keep going and you will definitely get there soon!

Cheers mate, You'll have to let me know what LOROL Is like ;)

Yeah I've shoved in an app for Crossrail so will see what happens with that.

C2C have very high standards for example one toc accepted my passes which were to their enhanced level but C2C didn't due to my wafv score... seem to be one of a few that bother with enhanced for stage two either that or have an even higher pass requirement throughout.. i know govia thameslink only require enhanced for stage one... Unclear if the mmi is ever part of an enhanced requirement... The old regime of knowing how good your pass mark was has vanished

A,pass should be a pass!

Hey guys. Read through all the post on this thread. Wanted to ask if anyone has heard anything else this month? I applied on 14th December. I emailed them and received the same reply on 4th March about how they're still in the process.

Also is there any advice anyone can give me in general?

And congrats to anyone successful at any stages or all.

Thank you

It was such an intense say I don't exactly remember the questions but here are some threads on this forum that get close enough if I remember. Just be prepared to be interrupted and added questions about how you feel. It might be worthwhile looking into outstanding train driver qualities.

Hi stallion I'm a pcv driver too. What made you want to go train driving ?

hey man! :)) there is a better future with trains. there are more better job opportunities within the train companies. Nearly every department within the train company pays better such as signalling department, driving a train, and more. More importantly, for me, I believe i will be more respected in driving trains. i wanna be part of a big serious jobs. if i become a train driver i might even go for higher positions. But with buses you know they don't care about you, neither the company or the passengers. you will always be in danger getting sacked even for little mistakes. there is some stupid poltics going on with the buses. they are always trying to sack high grade pays bus driver and give the jobs less pay grade drivers. its so stupid!! thats why i donlt like the buses anymore.

Thank you 30common. They said as soon as the medical comes back they will send a contract out. They are trying to get enough people to fill a course up in July. If there isn't enough for it there will be a course starting in September. (I'm hoping July though)
