Does anyone have the exact date and location of the fire in 2005 which resulted in this unit being withdrawn?
Indeed it would seem it was near Nailsea and Backwell, but it was 143613 (wondered why I was finding videos of 143615 happily roaming the Cardiff area only a month or so ago!)

Edit, picture of 143615 here

So I'm now a tad confused!
No. Both carriages of both 143613 and 143615 were written off and scrapped. If there are videos purportedly of 143615 a month ago then they are incorrectly titled.was the good half of each formed to make a good unit? Your second link shows 1 carriage from 613 and one from 615?
I'm getting very confused now, as my copy of RailGuide 2011 shows 143615 as alive and well..
I thought that the Pacer that went up in smoke and has been banished from the network was in blue, Wessex trains livery, not Valley Lines as in the picture.
IIRC both a Valley Lines and Regional Railways liveried 143 has been burnt to death.
Right on the first one, second one I believe was when Wessex Trains were in control of things, where they just splashed loads of blue vinyls over the Pacers.

None were ever burnt (to an extent that they were scrapped) in RR livery.
However.... to confuse things further, various mis-formings have taken place over the years, as detailed in this wikipedia article http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/British_Rail_Class_143
