Is there any news on the Renatus units returning? Last I heard, staff were told to expect deliveries from Mid-March. I was rather hoping a few would be out and about in time for the summer months.

Apologies if it's already been mentioned, but does anybody know which units have been refurbished so far? I'm considering heading over that way to try one, but if that's the only unit that's been done so far I'll wait until there's a few more as I'll have a better chance of finding one.

I'm not aware of any refurbished units being out and about in passenger service yet, I'll be keeping an eye on reports that they are, especially as Summer approaches. The more I avoid 90mph with open windows the better

The first production unit(s) were supposed to be returning around Easter according to one of the Railway mags, but I'm not aware of any coming back. The plan was to have 10 in service by the end of the franchise (October). With another 20 completed in the first year or so of the next.
Yep, 448 (the demostrator with new traction), is down at the seaside under going night time tests (when nothing else is about) on the branch to 'prove' the new kit doesn't affect the signals etc...
The production sets I believe are all still at Wabtec Doncaster, though the Rail magazine article said that the first sets were going to return without new traction, presumably until 448s kit has been authorised for use on the network.

448 is back at Ilford but has yet to move under its own power having been dragged back earlier in the week.

More internal rumbles seem to suggest a return end of this month / start of June
It was seen today being dragged on the down road through Chelmsford. The pan was down on it. Starting to get a bit sceptical as to whether we will see it anger in service. The service entry date keeps slipping back and back. Orignially it was going to be February, then March, and we are already half way through May!

Is that just 448 though? Last I heard aren't we expecting some 'Renatus' units back without any traction package modifications? If the last year's work on 448 is still problematic, the other refurbished units could end up back in service before it...
Likewise on the country end of a 12 car heading into Liv St on the Witham test trip. Due back out to Ilford shortly.

448 was indeed sat in p5 in Norwich when I bought my set for London in, not an everyday sight that!
