I think it's safe to say this whole application is dead! Nice way to treat people at the start of the franchise. New TPE New danger!!

Well people should not give up so easily. Apparently Liverpool depot for example is to DOUBLE in size over next couple of years, so guess likely to be similar at other locations. Have some patience and look at the bigger picture, you will all get there in the end im sure ;)

I spoke to the resourcing partner about 3 weeks ago and they are concentrating on the management restructuring before anything else. She said once that is sorted they will look to sort this out.

I'm pretty sure the management restructuring is now complete.
The real truth is they don't need and trainee drivers, in fact they really don't need the drivers they have!
After Dec when northern and TPE officially split the west side they have 50+ drivers for 1 train an hour to Scotland which means they have far too many drivers who will be redeployed to the east side which means no need for any new trainee drivers!
The trainee driver recruitment just before the francishise was just a franchise box ticking excercise I'm afraid we've all been had by TPE.
There are no jobs, for those who gained the physcometric tests then use them for other TOCS
New TPE new danger!

Do you have any evidence of this? Pretty big accusations if true.

If that is the case then why would TPE drag it out for 6 months rather than just tell people "due to changes in operational requirements..."? It doesn't make much sense (not to mention be extremely unfair) to keep people hanging on unless they actually plan to do something - and be a waste of time and money doing the whole recruitment process.

So your argue meant is that 'it's unfair'? welcome to the railway recruitment.
It wasn't a waste of money if it helps them win the franchise

New TPE new danger!??????????????????

Excuse my naivety but would the TPX drivers at Barrow and Blackpool transferred over to Northern under TUPE? Not quite seeing hoe the drivers from the North West network would transfer eastwards too quickly, especially with the 45 minute commuting rule.

I believe the recruitment drive would be connected with the new franchise and the commitment to deliver extra services to Edinburgh, etc, but that is pending the delivery of new rolling stock and so on.

I'm wait for southern or Thameslink services to advertise future Trainee train driver vacancies. If you guys are still waiting for replys from last year, do you feel I have a longtime to wait for future vacancies to show up. I've put job alerts on the site, so is it just a matter of a waiting game now? Did you see the vacancies advertised on the Southern websites?

I think it all depends on the needs of each TOC. Northern seem to be doing quite alot of recruitment where some dont have the need. I think this one is dead in the water but im hoping i am wrong

As for the job alerts I wouldn't rely on them as the jobs usually dissappear quickly id check daily on the website.

Looks as though people have been receiving emails today regarding the job. Stating there are no jobs at the moment due to changes in franchise commitments

I've received an email today stating the same about the franchise change over, however, I've been placed in a talent pool and may be contacted in future if positions arise.
Has anyone else received this?

Just Liverpool depot, but even that has not been confirmed yet. All just railway rumours as usual.

I got pooled after speaking to the HR team. Seems my email was pinged back by the servers for some reason.

Just Liverpool depot, but even that has not been confirmed yet. All just railway rumours as usual.

Rumour also has it Newcastle guards will be increasing from 15 to 29 too. We will have to wait and see.
