Hi guys. Anyone been to Didcot Railway Centre? How long would you give to see all the exhibits, have a run up and down the line and a browse round the gift shop?
Thanks, DJ

Well, if your time is at a premium, you could do it in a couple of hours, I guess. I tend to spend more like 3 or 4 hours there if it's a normal working day with both lines operational.
. Didcot is quite a large site to walk around with engine shed, carriage shed, GWR museum, lots of photo ops and main line action all around you. Not to mention a gift shop and cafe. I'm not a big GWR man, but I still love it!

Yes, that sounds right to me - you can save a bit of time by going straight to the demonstration line when you enter the site, ride it one way to the north end, disembark and then walk back towards the entrance in a sort of zig-zag pattern to cover everything.

Or vice-versa of course.

In my opinion it's the best of its type. The site is really well cared for and there are some really interesting exhibits. Not only that but you have a rare opportunity to walk through an authentic steam era engine shed.

Went today, spent about three hours there and it was great. Staff couldnt have been more helpful, had King Edward II and steam railcar running. Saw just about everything there. Thoroughly recommended.
