Hello,

I was wondering how long people have waited in the talent pools before being offered a course place. I've been in the Northern pool since mid November and trying to be as patient as humanly possible...

I'm not in a telent pool myself but from reading different threads on here - you can be (and there are people on here) waiting up to 2 years!

I'm in the pool for Blackburn, I have seen movement for others but seems to have stopped. I'm hoping it starts up again in the new year

Really?? Since July. Have you spoken to HR recently?

The last thing I heard was that they are waiting for confirmation on some updates.....whatever that means.

In for the long haul then :|

My assessment was literally a few days after yours. I passed but maybe my scores were not very high, hence placed in the talent pool and will probably be left there :(

Don't put yourself down, we have applied for different depots etc, I think the course allocation is not just about course dates but also about how many and how quickly they need drivers for particular depots, so if my theory is correct depots that are short of a few drivers where turns may possibly be uncovered would get priority over others. The theory could also turn out to be a load of rubbish as well as it is just my opinion.

Definitely varies. GTR pools range from around two years to almost instant employment. Just depends on when you're required.

Sorry to disagree but, No, patience is not the key. I think it's the wrong word.

Getting on with your life is the key.

Some people put everything on hold simply because they are waiting, literally, to hear. They become obsessive. They post every week asking if anyone has heard anything and are almost consumed with waiting. Some people find that their jobs, their relationships, holidays and life in general are put at risk as they "wait".

You're in a pool. You're through. You will be told as, and when, they need you with plenty of notice.

I know it is hard and is easier to say than do but go and do stuff.

Go and do stuff. Holiday, work, change jobs to something else, get a life, live a life.

When they want you they will contact you.
