You're away to Dover next Saturday - i expect that you'll win :(

I hope York stay up as I didn't make it to our victory there this season, and would like to next season :)

Take heart that you have not emulated Stockport County who were actually members of the Championship when their plummet began to their current league non-league status.

In non-league terms, Hyde United from being in the Conference Premiership are being currently relegated every year for the last three years.

Can anyone name the only team that has been in all 5 top divisions in English football during my lifetime (i.e. since 1982). Wimbledon are excluded due to their awkward situation with regard to being stolen, etc?

Yeah, I'd agree with Luton. What about Oxford as well? Need to check it.

Seems both are correct, so not only one.

I was thinking of Oxford, forgot completely about Luton...

I checked today's opponents Wigan (elected to the league in the late 1970s) but forgot that Luton existed!

It's quite funny how questions like yours trigger the memory. As soon as I saw the question I thought of a (87-88?) Panini sticker album, and Martin Foyle of Oxford in particular. :D

Wigan Athletic 0 - 1 Huddersfield Town

A win is a win I suppose, whilst it would be nice to give someone a real spanking, that's just a bonus. Just annoyed that Reading managed to snatch a win after being 2 goals down.

Hyde United 2...Glossop North End 1

On paper, the visit from a top five side to Ewen Fields was a test of the recent form improvement of Hyde and the game was deemed fit to play, despite a number of games being called off. A hard fought match looked like heading for a draw, but Hyde scored the winner in time added on for stoppages at the end of the game.

Now up to 14th place, but other sides now have games in hand of Hyde. Still, a good start to 2017.

Oldham 0-0 Port Vale

Other game where Oldham didn't score but we should done as we hit posts twice and Vale goalie pulled off wonderfully save in second half to keep it goalless.

AFC Totton 1...Winchester City 3 (Sherborne 15; Green 10, 58, Briggs 77)

Winchester City began the new year on a high with a win over their local rivals. City took the lead with ten minutes gone when Stuart Green pounced on a rebound, before the hosts equalised from a corner. In the second half City were far and away the better side and Stuart Green sent a shot in off the post from the left before Joe Briggs pounced on an error by the Totton keeper to send the ball into an empty net.

Other results:

Bideford 2...Taunton Town 4

Bridgwater Town 0...Paulton Rovers 5

Hereford 2...Evesham United 1

Larkhall Athletic 1...Yate Town 1

Mangotsfield United 3...Bishops Cleeve 3

Shortwood United 4...Slimbridge 4

Tiverton Town 2...Barnstaple Town 1

Wantage Town 0...Swindon Supermarine 5

Well we've gone from almost robbing a team to actually robbing a team. Unlucky Newcastle, Charlie Mulgrew hates you. [emoji38]

All the final day fixtures in the National League(Conference)on 29th April have been moved to a 12.15pm kick off so that one can be shown on TV.

Where are Dover playing that day? Yes, away to Barrow

Unsurprisingly, Hull City have sacked Mike Phelan. The club now needs a new manager (I hope not Pardew), a right-back, cover at right-back, a goalscorer, and to keep hold of Snodgrass.

In other news...

Wilfred Ndidi Genk > Leicester City £15m
Rudy Gestede Aston Villa > Middlesbrough £6m
Bartosz Bereszynski Legia Warsaw > Sampdoria £1.7m
Jens Hegeler Hertha Berlin > Bristol City £0.3m
Max Besuschkow Stuttgart > Eintracht Frankfurt free
Josh Cullen West Ham > Bradford City on loan
Kévin Bérigaud Montpellier > Angers on loan

That second transfer was a long time coming. Expect Jordan Rhodes - who's probably actually a better striker - to leave Boro. I hope Hull sign him, though my guess is that he'll head the other way to Aston. What do you make of that Villa fans?

I really hope Sheffield Wednesday sign another striker, the one thing we can't seem to do consistently is score more than one or two goals in a game (even if we play well), which isn't very much use if we want to get promoted. I'm really happy with the loan signing of Callum McManaman though, hopefully he's the first of two or three signings (loan or permanent!) this month.

Great quote from Simon Grayson (PNEFC) ahead off our FA Cup 3rd round against Arsenal, saying "people talk about Arsenal as the invincibles, well we are the original invincibles"

Not sure what they expected him to achieve given the hand he was dealt with.

The owners are the ones who should go, and forced to refund all season ticket holders their money from their own personal wealth for what they have done to the club this year.

I agree completely. The club's going down, no doubt about it.

In other news, Lee Grant has been signed from Derby County formally by Stoke City for £1.3m. And Torino has loaned Iago Falque out to Roma.
