Corby isn't the centre of the universe, but it does go to The Centre Of The Universe so considered extremely vital...

By that reckoning every town, village and sleepy little hamlet in the country ought to have it's own high speed route into London! :D

 I think there will be demand for a service. They must have done some sort of reasearch? How busy was is this "Corby Bus Link".

They painted one a week with the 5 and 7 cars. So I would have thought it would take less time to paint a 4 car.
Unless they are having other mods done while they are there.

Yes, I was just under the impression that they were only going in for a paint with all the other changes happening at Etches Park seen as 222102 was meant to enter yesterday.

Isn't it the biggest place in Britain without a direct train to London (or is it just the biggest place in Britain without a train)?

Either way, it's a decent sized place.

A direct service to London seems slightly OTT though, especiall considering Mansfield makes do with just the local stopping Robin Hood Line service!

Trains service will leave from Corby this month.

The Corby service will start on the 23rd February 2009. This means that 222101 and 222102 will both need to be in service within two weeks.

The article states that EMT are trying to get a thrid train (222104) as fast as they can so that they can run the full service. - Don't know why as they only need one more train to run the full service and only two or three trains are required to run the entire service. Unless they want to make the diagrams separate from the Sheffield diagrams which would make sense.

Is it imperative they're reliveried before entering service? Simply covering up the First branding and adding EMT lettering would suffice for now?

We've got Sprinters and HSTs running around with the remnants of 5 or 6 different TOCs about the place!!

Apparently First Group insisted they had to be painted before entering service.

Odd though, as many of the 153s and 158s have FGW/Wessex branding inside them

I'll add 101 to the fleet database.

Why would they care? It's not their corporate livery!?

Infact with their Pioneers gone, it's not a livery which is even active so to speak!!

Seems crazy when Northern and Arriva have trains running round in the First corporate livery!!

Could be because they still have 222104 in that livery and if anything happened with the trains that got bad press and a picture in the Hull Trains livery was shown people could think it is Hull Trains that have the probelms.

Seems silly when all other TOCs don't seem to mind.

In the end I think it has delayed the Corby service by a week.

happens on pres lines. The owner of ex-Freightliner 47292 through the contract agreement had to remove the FL branding before 1st January 2008 otherwise they may have taken further action. No worries at the moment though as it's being done up in large logo

Full shot of 222101 - http://rtranmer.fotopic.net/p56373667.html

You would never think it would have been will Hull Trains - until you get inside!
Notice how the layout of first class isn't going to be changed compared to HT (look at the red dots at the top)
Also they need a yellow bar on the coupler to indicate that that end is first class! I bet it never gets one though!

Don't think it's in service yet. Something tells me there will be set diagrams for the 4 car trains. If not the resevation will definitely play up!
I just hope that don't share Corby and Sheffield diagrams no more. Then we can get the 7 car Meridians dedicated on the Sheffields.

I would think they would be chucked onto Derby diagrams or similar, where traffic is not that high during the day.
