Well it's advertised internally pretty much every month for the last 10 years and very very few medically fit and clean record drivers apply. Go figure.

If you don't need anymore friends or maybe want to lose some then this is the job for you

If you really want to be a DM, recommend you go to a new TOC. Generally easier for everyone involved.

Ah the wit of the driver I don't want more friends and my record is clean as a whistle I just want to be closer to my family but I don't really know if it's the post for me so I thought I might get some informative reply, you just take people as you find them that's how I treat people most drivers I know that bitch about their managers usually have a problem with them or have been unable to get their own way for something or other or they have a crap record and have been hauled over the coals and in some misguided way think it's the companies fault.

Same boat as me (a different TOC though). I'll see if it was worth the plunge shortly. It will make family life considerably better which is the basis behind the move. I am very conscious though where I am the company cannot get people to do the role for love nor money but If it doesn't work out I can go back driving again, no biggy.

I was having the same conversation with someone today. Despite the bitching about managers it's normally second hand info from another driver. If you ask most drivers if they've ever personally had a run in with a certain manager, they haven't...
