We walk to the bus station (Punta Sabbioni) and having our pick if the benches, we get a little shut eye.

We are woken by an arriving bus. As good an alarm clock as any.

The alarm clock will take us onwards. It does so at 0550 and is the AVTO 23a service to Lido di Jesolo - Autostazione where we arrive at 0624 on Wednesday morning.

Luckily for us the railway station is exactly 1 km away.

From here we can reach one of Italy's extremities - Trieste.

To do so requires travel abroad Trentitalia's RV 2205 which departs 0817 and reaches this large port on the other side of the Adriatic at 0946. We have arrived at Trieste Centrale.
It is still Wednesday morning.

Taking the chance to explore this little border village we walk 650m to the bus stop named Strada per Bagnoli 263 (Centro Sportivo).

Having popped into the supermarket across from the stop for some lunch we eat al fresco in the Italian sunshine and await our onward transport.

It arrives in the shape of Trieste Trasporti number 49/ and this departs at 1220 and takes us to Muggia. The exact location is Piazzale G.Foschiatti (capolinea 20).
Arrival here is 1232 on Wednesday afternoon.

Please feel free to go wherever you wish but we do have a chance to cross over into Slovenia if we take a 7 or 27 numbered bus from here.

Hello Slovenia. A first in our travels?

We have fifty minutes till the next departure and seeing as only have to walk 220m, the time is passed by leaping back and forth over the border yelling "Italy!, Slovenia!, Italy!, Slovenia!..."

Reluctantly we have to stop as our bus has arrived. So we trudge over to the bus stop of 'Lazaret Meja'

Google Maps say the service here is operated by Arriva. Or to give it's full name Arriva Dolenjska in Primorska D.O.O

Departure is 1400 and we go all the way to the terminus of Avtobusna Postaja Koper arriving 1428 on Wednesday afternoon.

Looks like a smart bus station here so we can have a short break and then catch the 1510 Arriva Piran service to the seaside and alight at Portorož H where we arrive at 1554 on Wednesday afternoon

Walking whilst admiring the seaviews and the beach we find ourselves 400m later at the similarly named bus stop. Simply known as Portorož, Portorož. Here we can get long distance coach services operated by Flixbus.

The Flixbus (Operated on behalf by CEE South) coach on route number 943 leaves at 1635 and travelling into what I believe is another new country for us - Croatia. We arrive in the city of Pula at 1935 on Wednesday evening.

The bus stop in Pula is simply known as 'Pula, Pula' - On Google Maps it is just by 'Erny's Gym Teretana i fitness centar'.

This also appears to be the bus station and there is an Autotrans d.o.o. service 2003 departing at 2000 which we take to Rijeka Autobusni kolodvor, arriving there at 2220 on Thursday evening.

Thanks for the link to buscroatia, got an earlier departure that doesn't show up on Google Maps.

This is the 0100 departure by what looks like Croatia bus-Globtour-Salinea-Jadran ekspres. The bus route is 684 and we are bound for the capital. We arrive at Zagreb autobusni kolodvor at 0345 on Thursday morning.

This early in the morning, there isn't much movement. We decide to to head to the nearby rail station Gladni Kolodvor and catch the 06:55 service by an unknown company to Ljubljana Station, Slovenia. We arrive at 09:15 on Thursday morning.

After admiring city we take our leave aboard...

ÖBB train number R 4436 on what is a regional international service. As the train operator will have already given away we are heading for Austria.
We leave the Slovenian capital at 1050 and having just crossed the border we alight at Spielfeld - Straß / Bahnhof at 1352 on Thursday afternoon.

Source: reiseauskunft.bahn.de and Google Maps.

NB - Some disagreement on the Austrian station name. DB website says Straß but Google Maps says Bahnhof.
Either way it is the station in the village of the same name not the one actually on the border with I believe is redundant these days both countries being in the EU.

Like the look of this game, so here's my contribution:

At Spielfeld-Straß we change from a regional train to a suburban train (S-Bahn Steiermark) which departs at 14:09 and taking this S5 train to its destination at Graz Hbf where our arrival is at 14:59 still on Thursday afternoon.

There is a border hugging branch line from here.

We take it at 1634 and travelling on an S 51 train we decide we like the look of Mureck so take our leave at 1649 on Thursday afternoon.

That would appear to be all for Thursday.

Don't have to wait too long into Friday for onward travel.

At 0345 an ÖBB train number REX 1952 has us on our way. We arrive nice and early in the Austrian capital at 0536. Our location is Wien Hbf / Vienna Central and the day is now Friday.

We decide to make our escape to the skies after a long time on the ground. No less than six minutes after arriving, we turn back around and board the 0929 Wiener S-Bahn S7 service to Flughafen Wien, arriving at the airport at 1012 Friday evening.

It's The Big Orange for us; as we obey the city break adverts that are literally everywhere and board El Al flight LY362 at 12:05 heading for the charmingly named Natbag Airport; Tel Aviv; where we arrive at 16:30 on this Friday afternoon
Can't remember if we've been here recently; but anyway...

...however, whilst onboard our flight, we decide we want an island break (IOM, anyone?), not a city break. Once on the ground in Israel, we go and book ourselves on airBerlin flight 8383, departing a mere forty minutes after arriving, at 1710. We touch down at Berlin Tegel airport, the time being 20:20 this Friday evening.

We can get closer to the IOM by taking Aer Lingus flight EI 339 at 2205 and arriving at Dublin Airport at 2330 on Friday night.

It appears that this arrival is one of the last for the night. with flights not resuming until the morning. From what I can gather, the first flight out is KLM Cityhopper flight 932, departing at 05:55 and arriving at Amsterdam Schiphol airport for 08:30 Saturday morning.

The Isle of Man is in our grasp at last.

I shall take the 0925 KLM Cityhopper KL 985 to London City Airport where we arrive at 0930 owing to the time difference on Saturday morning.

Source: flightstats.com

Our goal can be reached within the three hour rule allowance if the next player (who of course is free to go wherever they like) cares to board Eastern Airways operated on behalf of British Airways flight BA 3284.

Also refreshing myself on the rules. I see it says 'GB' so London to the IOM is allowed as the IOM is an overseas dependency. So that means travel from England, Scotland and Wales is possible to Northern Ireland as it is in the UK but not GB. Have we done that, can't remember?

NI is allowed here as it is not part of the Mainland - I think.

Anyway, we take up Bodie's suggestion for reaching the IOM and hang around in East London (including some clandestine moves on the DLR which won't be documented) and board British Airways (operated by Eastern) flight 3284. We push back at 11:50 and arrive on the island for 13:05 Saturday afternoon.
