I know there has been mention previously of what class 88s are stabled at Kingmoor but went past yesterday (thursday 22nd June) at 09.00 and again at 20.00 but only managed to get 88004 and 88009. Does anyone know what 68s and 88s were sat in the depot yesterday. Many thanks if anyone can help.

According to the WNXX Facebook page today (posted in last 30 mins or so) there is talk of class 56 loco (s) being used to operate a test train tonight... Might be of interest to someone or other if anyone is paticuarly interested at all? Train heading from Derby to St. Pancras.

There were a few 88s released into service over the past day or two, together with some of the new 68s (from Crewe Gresty Bridge) so 68s/88s moving around all over the place and your request may be a bit challenging! I'll have a stab at the 88s first - there's only 10 of those; then the ever-growing 68s...

88001 - been stopped for attention and was at Kingmoor yesterday; did a test run to Tebay and back today; so not sure if it was visible yesterday?

88002 - has been on the 4M48/4S43 Daventry-Mossend circuit last few days, so you won't have seen that at Kingmoor.

88003 - been at Daventry last few days - won't have seen this one.

88004 - did an out and back test run to Penrith at lunchtime - you got this one.

88005 - was doing testing/training in the main Kingmoor Yard yesterday. Might have seen this one?

88006 - left Kingmoor at c.7am to go to Crewe on a test run. Returned to Kingmoor at 2.45pm - so you might have seen it in the evening.

88007/010 - at Kingmoor TMD all day, not sure if visible

88008 - at Crewe Gresty Bridge yesterday

Class 68s reported at Kingmoor at times you passed:

68006 and 68025 were at Kingmoor TMD all day yesterday.

68016/018 arrived from Torness Power Station (nuclear flasks no doubt) just before 8pm - not sure if you saw those.

I cannot see any others being down as being at Kingmoor yesterday, but that's not to say they weren't as the data isn't always 100%.

88008 - at Crewe Gresty Bridge yesterday

88009 - you saw...

Class 68s reported at Kingmoor at times you passed:

68006 and 68025 were at Kingmoor TMD all day yesterday.

68016/018 arrived from Torness Power Station (nuclear flasks no doubt) just before 8pm - not sure if you saw those.

I cannot see any others being down as being at Kingmoor yesterday, but that's not to say they weren't as the data isn't always 100%.

Many thanks for that - 68030 came through preston as I waited for my Edinburgh train and it was at the head of 4 class 68s - no shortage of reactive effort!

Hi guys - driving down to Devon and saw 3 colas class 70s together on bescot - anybody know what they were? Roughly 6am if it helps anyone identify them.

No problem. Don't know if you got the others, but if not they were 68017, 029 and 031 (the latter two in the 'plain' blue livery). On a Sellafield to Crewe working.

There were three Colas 70s showing on TOPS as being at Bescot Down Side Yard this morning just before 6am - so ties up nicely with your sighting:

GWR have four 57s which I believe are the locos allocated to beds in the normal course of events.

57602/603/604/605.

57602 was on 1A40 last night - don't know it's exact location right now, but would assume it's at the London end of operations (probably Old Oak Common)

57604 is at Longrock TMD (Penzance) having a compressor change (or at least it was yesterday!)

Not sure which of 603 and 605 worked 1C99 and where either are now (these locos seem to be "off TOPS"). Whichever one worked 1C99 is likely to be at Longrock depot now though.

Maybe someone else can confirm where these two are.
