Good Morning PJSADI, have they contacted you for your medical yet? I understand in some cases they will contact you 3-5 months before your start date to arrange date for medical.

Morning.
No, I've not heard anything since sending back the contract. They did say at the DMI that it would probably be much closer to the start date. Just a case of waiting.....after what's been a 6/7 month process, what's another couple of months. It'll fly past I feel!!

Hi everyone, Im due to start on January 2nd, I had my medical on the 12th October but I'm currently still waiting for confirmation from mtr crossrail as to weather I passed or not. Was just wondering how long new starters waited for before getting confirmation of a successful medical. Any help will be greatly appreciated.

Hi Georgie, I had my medical the same day as you and am on the same course. I was told the following day I had failed but I knew at the time anyway because I have a hearing problem. Just got to do my Network Rail safety critical tests again and I should be good to go! You would definitely have heard by now if you'd failed so don't worry.

The application for drivers has re-opened until 31/10. I haven't seen anyone mention this.

Well done to all of you starting soon, or started already. Long process but worth it!

Did they say why the courses were pushed back? Is anyone in here on the course in February 2018?

Hi Tai,
I had the same phone call as PJSADI yesterday stating that due to movement in operations that the course has unfortunately been pushed back from March to June 2018.

I also received a call today, postponing my start date from April to August.

I am due to be on a course in Feb 2018 but I have not received a phone call as of yet stating that training course has been cancelled or pushed back for a later date.

I have done my medical just waiting to do my references at the moment.

Just a thought....none of these jobs are at risk are they? The start dates are just being pushed back and that is all?

I don’t believe there’s a risk, and a source I have says that they will be advertising for more trainee drivers in the near future as they are still short.
My take on the situation is that maybe there is to be a slight delay on the go live date of Dec 2018, and rather than having a large number of drivers with very little to do, pushing the training back mitigates this. May be wrong though.

Hello dodge

I am on that course provisionally also. I did my medical on November 21st and am awaiting an update regarding that. Have you had a feedback for your medical and how long did it take if you did? I still have not received an email Regarding referencing as of yet.

I have been made aware on here that people with April and March course dates have been pushed back to later dates.

Did you receive a call to say the Feb course was getting pushed back?

Cheers

Tai

I know this thread is for Trainee Drivers. But I have applied for the qualified drivers role at plumstead/Abbey Wood.

I am currently waiting an interview, I have no idea if the trainee interviews are different to the qualified drivers interview but any advice on what is asked or what they are looking for would be helpful.

Many Thanks

I'm on the 2nd January course and have not received any calls regarding a delay in the start date. Fingers crossed they don't as I've already handed my notice in!
