Hi

I saw this during August, and wasn't sure what it was, can someone confirm what it is and its allocated traction number please?

It's a rail grinder, a sized down version for the underground. One had a runaway incident a couple of years ago on the Northern Line.

I believe the errant grinder was the one pictured in the original post.

It is designated RGU for identification purposes and doesn't have an 'allocated traction number'.

Is this because they are owned by contractors rather than the Underground itself?

Indeed they are owned by Schweerbau and loaned in.
