Faresaver have got two more deckers - unsure of the reg's but it's freed up an ALX400 for my morning bus which was way overcrouded for the E200s which used to serve it

They are Volvo B9TL / Wright vehicles from Tower Transit, registered BX12CVK and BX12 CVM. I'm quite surprised Tower Transit have sold a large batch of these ex-First B9s, as they are not that old.

There was a Y reg Renault Master welfare bus parked up on Bond Street this morning with an 'On Hire to Megabus' board in the windscreen. I wonder if it's anything to do with Durbins?

That has been parked there since I saw it last Friday! Not sure of its purpose!

Thinking of doing an Avon Day Rider on Saturday if I can

Looking at the leaflet it's valid on Carmel Bristol routes, and they seem to have a couple of routes, 88A/88C out of Nailsea on a Saturday, might try it out but does anyone know what vehicles they use on it?

Also as it's valid on Buglers thought I might go on one of their vehicles, but the website doesn't provide any bus service details, however bustimes.org comes up with this 672 timetable which appears to run in one direction only and will run this Saturday?

https://bustimes.org.uk/services/672-bristol-chew-magna-blagdon-2?date=2017-11-04

I'm tempted to get the vehicle in the book and do Horsefair to Temple Meads, but will this actually run? Not finding any info on Buglers website and only finding this on a third party website, I'm just don't want to turn up and find out it doesn't run anyway (although I've found many other timetables on bustimes.org and the site does seem to be pretty accurate)

Any help appreciated :)

Carmel Bristol 88A/88C "The Circle Route" Is formed of modern Optare Solos.

Both ABUS and Buglers run the 672 weirdly enough. I assume that ABUS does the majority whilst Buglers does one evening run? I am not too sure to be honest. If it is registered it should turn up!

Yep got it in one. Bugles do one trip from Bristol in the evening. Good luck trying to get back from Blagdon though.

Ah I see! Didn't look on the Abus site, I was just looking at what Buglers routes might be possible. I know there's no way back doing the whole route on that run, but I'd go to Temple Meads, or Bedminster at the absolute most

I'd be careful with doing that only because Bugles are very unreliable on that service

bustimes republish the Traveline data, possibly with a delay.

Try searching on the Traveline site which will be at least as up to date, possibly more so.

I would think it was the 12:30 route 10 from Southmead with an incorrect number. Was it going north/east?

Buglers 18:10 672 from Broadmead turned up with some Indcar (Mago 2 body?) minicoach in non-standard Buglers livery (was white with some coloured squiggles)

I noted former Wessex B9/Gemini FJ57 CZG, looking very battered, in Kensington on Friday. It seemed to be working an air staff shuttle to/from hotels.

Crosville have now extended their cancellation on 67 from Wedmore to Burnham

They will now be operating it until 8th December

From 11th December Somerset Accessible Transport will be running 67 from Wedmore to Burnham, presumably on the same timetable. Mendip Community Transport will still be running the Wookey Hole-Wells-Wedmore section.

I note according to companies house Jonathon Jones-Pratt is no longer a director of Crosville or Southern National although JJP Holdings is a person with substantial holdings. He has been replaced by one Christopher Hilditch at Crosville - presumably son of Geoffrey Hilditch who I seem to recall was involved with the privatisation of the "real" Crosville.

Chris is indeed the son of the esteemed late Geoffrey who after running Halifax and Leicester did help Nick Ridley privatise the NBC.

Also, Chris has a long history of bus management too including a spell at Stagecoach SW.

New Crosville team in place
Two new appointments at JJP Holdings Group-owned Crosville Motor Services (CMS) are setting a new course for the Weston-super-Mare based operator.

It comes as further investment has been placed from JJP Holdings Group into CMS which will see “further positive changes for 2018.”

CMS has also been successful winning a number of tenders in a recent Somerset County Council tender round.

John Wye has joined as Compliance and Managing Director, focussing on rebuilding growth in the local area and leading the team to achieve the highest results with “ultimate value on compliance and delivery.”

It means that interim MD Chris Hilditch is able to step back, having provided support in recent months generating positive results for the business.

David Mason has been appointed Fleet Engineer to lead the engineering department. Previously with Go South Coast, he will building his own team with in-house engineering, focusing on high service delivery coupled with a ‘zero harm’ approach to safety and compliance.

Says CMS Chairman Jonathan Jones-Pratt: “The two appointments to Crosville are a great testament to 2017’s learnings. It is evident that we are moving forward and attracting some great people into the business.

“I welcome the new business structure and look forward to the business succession plan taking effect early Q1.

“The team has all worked very hard and I am continually embraced by the can-do attitude of the staff.

For anyone interested here is a link to a photo, which is not mine, of Crosville vehicles at Alpha Recovery awaiting there fate:https://www.flickr.com/photos/northeast_rail_photos/27875839469/in/dateposted/

Wasn't expected to see them piled on top of each other! To me, they still look like they could have a few more years left in them - but obviously mechanically that is probably a different story. I have heard that Primos are not particularly reliable.

However, i'm sure I read a Buses article about Crosville a few years ago, when the Primos were the main fleet - i seem to remember them being described as economical and reliable?
