...er... ie. Germany and Switzerland. Looks like these far-off places have got chopped off Eurostar's booking engine again: I was redirected to SNCB Europe when I tried Cologne and computer said no altogether to Switzerland. And it looks like the quotas for the Netherlands have been mercilessly reset to follow those to Brussels, meaning that you need to book at least 2 days in advance to get any remotely sensible fare. Bit disappointing: I thought ES had finally acknowledged that there was useful demand to such unusual destinations (especially DE), but it looks like we are back to square one again. SNCB Europe though is selling connections via ICE and Thalys on the same screen, which ES's site could never manage...

If you want to travel to Germany I'd ignore SNCB Europe altogether and go to Deutsche Bahn instead.

I just looked up a random journey from London to Cologne somewhere mid-January, DB offered me a "Sparpreis Europa London" at the reasonable price of € 59,90. If I'd want to buy tickets for the exact same journey at SNCB Europe, that would set me back € 104,90.

I think Czech Railways (České Dráhy) offer discounted fares to places outside of Czechia, so might be worth a try. Just this last week I did Brussels to Prague and back for around £60, including ICE services from Brussels Midi to Nürnberg Hbf.
