hey all! You guys are always so helpful.
The teen stepson is gracing us with a visit next weekend (Oct 27-29) but needs me to pay for him and his partners’ travel.
He will be leaving Guildford Friday evening and returning from Seaford Sussex on Sunday afternoon.
Best fare/ route/ advice?
Thank you so much!!

It's possible with just one change at Gatwick Airport, leaving Guildford at 1710 and Gatwick Airport at 1831, arriving at Seaford at 1934. They will need to ensure they are travelling in the correct portion of that train though as it will divide en route at Lewes (most likely the rear 4 coaches will continue to Seaford).

Elsewise a second change, probably at Lewes, will be neccesary, for example leaving at 1818 and changing at Gatwick Airport and Lewes would have them arriving at 2018, although only with a 4 minute connection at Lewes.

Do they both have a 16-25 railcard? You say they're teenaged but I guess they're over 16? If they get railcards an Off-Peak Return from Guildford to Seaford (Sussex) route 'Not Clapham Jn' is £20.80.

Thank you!!! They should get railcards.... the ‘two together’ card makes sense to me (they’re 18 years old)
Thank you!! I’m mostly looking at saving money here.

The Two Together railcard would have the advantage that only one railcard needs to be purchased to cover both of them, yes. Although if they are ever likely to travel alone it could be useful for them to have their own.

There are a number of codes about to get a railcard for £3 / £5 off during October if one is bought online. Have a Google, one of the top results is simply 'ONLINE'.
