Thanks. Odd that it appeared to have no onward pathing from Betchworth. I wonder if it used the crossover there, which requires ground frame operation.

Betchworth was probably where it entered the possession, exit from different location.

http://www.realtimetrains.co.uk/train/U11820/2017/11/24/advanced appears to be the return working - it isn’t uncommon for them to be timed from a different location on the way back, as it depends where they’re entering/leaving the possession (or where the possession is being taken/given up around them), and the selected location rarely ties in exactly with the possession arrangements anyway.

Thanks for the replies. I have yet to see or have proof of anything using that crossover since I've lived here (from August 2012) - I'll keep watching!
