are the 319s staying

Yes until 2021. They’ve also said in the staff Q&A group that they are getting more but I’ve no idea how many. I’ve heard various different numbers between 9 and 20!

I suppose one or two are for the Abbey Line, but I really don't get why they would want more given their reliability.

One could perhaps argue that they need more in order to account for the units' lack of reliability. ;)

A second hourly service along the Trent Valley would be amazing, currently there is quite large demand for many services, a large proportion (at least from the services I have been on) are well loaded south of Stafford, sometimes full and standing at Lichfield TV, and almost always full and standing by Nuneaton). In my opinion the current service is invaluable, the speed compared to many journeys by road especially within Staffordshire is amazing. A direct Northampton link would be greatly appreciated as well, especially not being at the detriment to London journey times. This rumour is truly amazing, I do hope it does actually happen!

Near a bunch of sheds that aren't 66s.
Any more information about the press launch on Monday morning at London Euston? Really appreciate all the info already given, you've been a great help! Is 350373 going to be doing selected/special duties that day following the launch, if any?

Does seem weird it's happening in the morning, unless I'm mistaken, as it seems to be taking place at the height of rush hour - this kind of stuff from what I've seen usually happens closer to lunch time as it's obviously so easy for something to go wrong in front of a lot of people.

Completely agree. Surprised they aren't looking at sending the services further north towards Warrington and beyond either to take advantage of the loadings even more. The proof is seeing loads on the platforms when I go past them as well as healthy loads on many of the services now leaving Crewe in either direction.

They can't go to.Warrington as much as it would be a useful.service. The franchise spec only allows 2 paths an hour between crewe and weaver.

Which platform will the 8-car Crewe to London use at Crewe next December?
I can't see that 2, 3 or 4 are long enough. Would 7 or 8 be used, given that the train will go direct to Stafford? How long are they?

One bit of info that will go down well at WMT HQ is that Wolves Council have what seems the final bit of funding (just shy of £50 Million), to crack on with Wolverhampton's Station Redevelopment and the City's Tram Extension: at long, long last!

https://www.wmca.org.uk/news/wolverhampton-interchange-gets-50m-funding-boost-from-wmca/

That’s good news, although I can’t help thinking the tram extension is a bit pointless considering it’s length. Considering the trams come from Birmingham direction, would many people jump on a tram then catch a train, unless they was going northwards?

Funny isn't it how everyone hates a new livery at the start of a franchise, but everyone loves it at the end of a franchise and will miss it

It'd be acceptable if the entire front end was yellow, and I liked the LM livery from when I first saw it

I think it'll turn up on Monday at the launch event, though someone has claimed to have seen it elsewhere in the thread.
I think they got it confused with the Project 110 livery though didn't they?

I thought it was quoted on this thread as being on Sunday? or is that just the photoshoot?

It would make more sense tomorrow being more quiet, but with the predicted snow, could be interesting! At least bright orange and purple will be seen quite easily in the snow.

Solihull station had the new timetable booklets available on Friday but didn't have the Worcester (no. 10) or Liverpool (no. 5) one, at Birmingham New Street today I could see new Cross-country ones on display but forgot to ask there so did at Wolverhampton for the Liverpool one where they still had the current ones on display, and refused to give out the new one despite clearly having them available behind the counter (I could see them).

So made my final trips on LM today, the TOC names already removed from the outsides and insides of the 172s!

I did look out to see if i could see the re-liveried train at Tyseley but was hidden away :p

Sorry to be answering my own question, but I remembered that platform lengths are in the sectional appendix I downloaded in 2009. That gives
2 - 159m
3 - 90m
4 - 132m
7 - 154m
8 - 116m
Given that an 8 coach 350 will be over 162m then none of those are currently long enough.
I suppose platform 12 is the obvious candidate then.

i THINK that 1 can have a train in the North end and South end, so Northern could still have their Manchester one, and There would still be room for an 8 coach 350. Depends how long the lay-over is really.

Already in service or waiting to be released? Any real pics?

Have seen pics, but cant share them as their not mine, as far as i could see it was basically grey with a large dark green W or N in the middle. That was about a week ago tho so not sure whether more has been done. As for the 172 then i haven't a clue.
