In the early hours of December 10th, Govia will lose the West Midlands franchise and their TOC, London Midland will no more. All will be handed over to the new franchise holders - Abellio, JR East and Mitsui who will form the new West Midlands Trains and take over the West Midlands franchise. They will operate under two new brand names, London NorthWestern Railway and West Midlands Railway.

To say farewell post any photos of a London Midland train below.

A quick question, if I buy an advance ticket today that states 'London Midland only' will the new ticket be valid on the new companies services?

What service is due to be the last ever London Midland service?
This is the last service into London Euston.

Yes it will.

Let's get back on topic though, any of you got photos of a London Midland train like the thread suggests?

Yes tickets for defunct operators must be accepted by their successors. See also: Southern Only

I will miss the London Midland branding, it's both smart and friendly for visually impaired persons. I must say, I thought the framchise still had a few month left. R.I.P London Midland, I only travelled with you four times but your staff at New Street were very kind to my mum.

Farewell to London Midland. I haven’t used their trains that frequently, but everytime I have, they’re been clean and reliable. Their class livery even makes their 150/1s and 153s look modern. The end of an era!

Yay... Let's paint everything. New uniforms, new leaflets, new customer charters and rules, new signs. And all so that most of the travelling public can remain utterly indifferent and disinterested. The DfT's very favourite way of criminally wasting money.

Near a bunch of sheds that aren't 66s.
I loved London Midland to bits having twice have them as my local TOC out of Harrow & Wealdstone. Will miss them to bits and will post a few photos here to mark their send off when I return on my laptop shortly.

What is your point lol?

I think it's down to LM having only ran the franchise for like 10 years? That's nothing compared to some longer ones (SWT 1996-2017, rip)!

Like that's not been happening for the past 20 or so years!

Doesn't make it any less of a shocking waste!
