Where? I have just gone back to edit one of my posts on here and there doesn't appear to be such an option that I can see
As far as I'm aware this isn't an option; would require an Addon.

You don't need a special option. If you want people to know why you edited something, you can just add a note to the post.
Look at my previous post for an example.

It should be a lower case 'p.'

Either should work and does pretty much on any other site, so I would suggest to add it (pretty sure it did on vB too). Capital P makes as much sense as lower case.

The confused one works whether one uses upper or lowercase S

I did wonder if that's what you meant. Previous posters are referring to the old vB option of adding it as a note after a post (not that I generally used to fill it in, but I probably shouldn't admit to that ;))

I know what was being referred to. But the only reason to have that functionality is if you're going to make people use it for every edit. If it's optional it doesn't add anything that can't be done by adding a footnote to a post.

I've added to see who is currently viewing a thread.

I agree, it's quite irritating that for whatever reason it is case sensitive; I know on the old forum I could never remember if it was meant to be uppercase or lowercase and often they would just appear as normal characters, until I changed it about a year ago. The official way on the old forum was  which used to annoy me as I had no idea what it meant!

I believe all three worked on vB. From what I've heard before, custom ones can be added in can't they, so presumably :P can be added to show the emot?

Um, emoji codes such as  and , are they now invalid because they don’t seem to work?

I think  may have used to be a Smilie code on vB, but  never was.

Hi,

OK thank you for that. I was given blush as an example by the way :)

I don’t know what vB is but you’ve answered my question so thank you :)

vB is short for vBulletin, which was the old software that this forum ran on until a couple of months ago. The current software is called XenForo.

Is there any indication as to how long it may be before there is an option for members to change posts per page?

This will never change, it just isn’t an option. When the issue was first raised the limit was lower than 30; it was raised a few weeks ago to 30.

Thanks for the increase.

It is an option with an add-on.

Due to reasons stated on the xF forum the addon causes numerous link problems and therefore would be not wise to install.

But people should be linking to specific posts instead of linking to a page. It was the same in vbulletin.

The benefits outweigh the possible problems in my opinion.

I have to voice my support for BlueFox's statement here, especially when considering the part I've highlighted.

 is another missing emot - I have just been reading the start of an old thread and the lack of conversion has messed up part of one of the posts

Which one was that?

Wide eyed one if I recall - o_O. I think this one will have been used quite a few times under the "old" notation. New notation is o_O which I don't believe will have been widely used in the past

Hmm, I've had this again, except I haven't... when I went to take screenshots while hovering over the links I realised that it's almost certainly a fat-finger-error: accidentally clicking on the date under the thread title rather than on the thread title itself.

D'Oh

Actually, maybe it wasn't solely a fat finger error.

Here's what happens when I hover over a thread title today - there's nothing in the URL shown in the status bar that indicates I'll be taken to the first unread post (and indeed I'm not), yet I've read many pages of this thread, including since the update:

I find that on mobile I don't have the ability to mark a single individual forum as read; the function only appears on the home page and does all forums?

Next to "Watched Threads" and "New Posts" there are 3 dots "..." - tapping that will give you the option you require.

I tried tapping those and it wasn't part of the list that appeared...

If you're on the home page you only get the option to mark all forums read. But if you're in one of the sub-forums (or a thread), you'll have the option to mark that sub-forum as read.

Err... no, I was looking from a sub forum and it didn't offer me any option to mark anything as read.

You should see this. Click on Mark Forums read and it should give the option of everything, or the current sub-forum.

Ah.... that's not very visible... I was looking at three dots all right, at the top right, but not those three... I'll have a look next time I switch the phone on...

Found it... I have to say it's extremely small and not very noticeable, and I suspect another reason I didn't see it before is it's above the adverts... no adbock on my mobile... so I don't normally look any higher than the section header...

Hi,

I accidentally marked every thread as unread. Is there a way to undo this please?

Thanks :)
