I actually rather like the West Midlands livery. The logo and choice of typeface gives it a rather dignified look.

Take out the purple and you have a prototype livery for London Overground though. ;)

Looks like GWR light & dark stone to me.
Yeah, as far as I was aware there've been stations painted in this traditional style around the West Midlands local rail network - primarily on the Snow Hill lines outside of the PTE area is the impression I get - for ages now.

The repaint at Snow Hill uses the corporate style of purple, orange and white.

A number of stations have recently been repainted with the green and black replaced a couple of orangey shades.View attachment 40361

That's the "fake old fashioned GWR style" that is already used in parts of the West Midlands and further afield (e.g. Hanwell and Elsthorne, as well as Stratford-upon-Avon). I personally think it looks rubbish, but doubt it will be the standard.

If I was them I'd keep the LM black but overpaint the green with either orange or purple for WMR or the sort-of-mint-green for LNR, and vinyl over the signs in the new font style.

Have to agree, and would make the dual branding of WMR and LNR look smarter. Black would much easier tie the both brands togethe with the chosen accent colour of the particular service.

But the West Midlands Railway style will be used across all TfWM transport modes in Birmingham. The black and green should really stay as-is on LNR.

I'm still shocked we're losing green as the West Midlands colour. All West Midlands trains have had green on them for ages.
On the bright side, the confusion between green trains on the Worcester-Hereford route is soon to end! I do wonder how many people will be thrown by what's basically been an exchange of Green and Purple between the West Midlands & Greater Western franchises...

Same, green always says to me trains West Midlands. Purple and orange doesn’t represent the West Midlands to me.

Then again, I’d like to have the Central Trains name back myself. :D

What do you mean by "got away"? Are you suggesting that they should be breaching regulatory policy?

Don't think yellow ends should be an issue anymore... Look at virtually every EU nation, which has NEVER had them, and have NEVER had light regulations. Britain needs to catch up to Europe.

We have "caught up to Europe", the latest requirements are aligned with those of the rest of the EU (which have as far as I'm aware had light regulations for a while...), so any train currently being built could be painted without a yellow front.

350373 updated on the list. Any other confirmed units?

172339, which is now in WMR livery. As a suggestion (just because I think it'd be interesting) - why not also note the date on which stock was repainted in that master list in the first post? Could be a useful resource for someone in the future?

While I don't mind the front that much, I do think it looks a lot better with some black on there.

My biggest issue with the liveries is why have they left the yellow bit above the windscreen on the 172? Only the gangway is yellow on the 350 and it looks better than having a random bit yellow at the top.

...which is why I've just knocked this up - original image is @sprinterguy 's.WMR172.jpg
I've swapped the positions of the yellow and purple at the front, and I think it looks much, much better than what's actually gracing the lines. I'll attempt to add yellow to the 350 in a bit...
