Is this what you were talking about?

Very nearly.

Are you able to do the remainder of the green on the front (i.e. the little bit to the left and right of the windscreen) - in black (to match the windscreen surround)?

Also, the bottom of the yellow, where those two 'buffers' are on the left and right. Just above those should perhaps be black so that the bottom of the yellow section is completely straight (horizontal) at the bottom.

Can it show the whole image?

That Twitter post was about west midlands side as it mentions the centre coach. Don't think that Abellio gave as much say over that one which was developed long before the franchise announcements as of Lnw.

The image is taken off their site, (which isn't on there now? Hmm!)
Whoops! forgot the gangway doors

Is there any way it can be posted with the whole of the train visible?
That's the full image, it was one of the three banner images on the website which is why it is long and wide, I had a hard time finding a decent image so I just used that.

They won’t say that the livery is a work in progress on their own public twitter feed. That’s like publically admitting there’s a fault with a car and then fixing it later on.. The way I see this is that the base livery is unlikely to change now so get used to the jagged edges and diamonds because that’s here to stay. What is more likely to change however is the minor items such as the front colours and bits that show wear easily. VTEC launched its 91s with a grey roof before changing to white and South West Trains also launched (a long time ago) a 455 with a black front so I’ll be perfected overtime.

yes just like Central 'perfecting' their ex TPE 158s which had an ugly blue stripe cutting the by then obsolete 'N' in half replaced with an amateurish attempt at matching the burgundy bodywork... not to mention the ((( insignia crudely placed on the outer ends

Quite - ever was thus.

Remember Network South-East? At least 3 'variants' I can recall off hand.

The 'original' - which was 'bands' of red, white, blue and grey.

Then it was 'upswept' at the ends of the units and locos.

And then the blue changed to a deeper shade - all in the space of a year or so.

Having seen pics of both - the WMR looks OK - maybe a bit too 'London Overgroundish' but still OK.

The LNWR one, looks better in the flesh than the mock ups - the film footage somebody else mentioned was also carried on ITV Anglia News as well. However, I can see why there's concern about it looking too much like Southern - at a glance they are quite similar, particularly to Joe Public. It perhaps would have been better if LNWR had gone for a different 'highlight' colour i.e not green.

Either way - both liveries are far nicer than the drab white / grey of Thameslink / Great Northern or Greater Anglia.

Day no 2 of the new franchise on the Vale: Delays.

But yeah - paint.

Do you see the point i am making? Most of you seem to see the service to mere paying passengers as secondary to the key matter of the colour of the paint. When we sort out and on time all the time franchise we can worry about paint!

I'm really not bothered what colour any of their trains will be ... but ... these Aventras - are they 2+2 or 2+3 seating, and what will they be used on?

(Just want to see the back of 2+3 350/2s on Liverpool - Birmingham trains.)
I don't think it's been confirmed what the seating layout of the Aventras will be, beyond the fact that there will "be 29 five-car units with a maximum speed of 175 km/h for deployment on outer suburban services from London and Birmingham from 2021, and 16 five-car 175 km/h units for use on longer distance services on the London – Birmingham route from 2021". So it's possible that the 29 outer suburban units could be fitted with 3+2 seating, but I wouldn't expect to see it on the 16 longer distance units. At least you can be certain that you will be seeing the back of the 350/2s, whatever ends up working the route!

Signalling issues again on the Snow Hill - Hereford line (probably in the Worcester/Ledbury area as it always seems to be nowadays - I thought that NR had pumped millions into upgrading it over the last couple of years?) with one service to Hereford at least 63L and still not into Droitwich.

Caught a glimpse of the Guard on 2V08 (Stratford to Worcester) - who still seems to be wearing his LM uniform - unless the new jackets have the horizontal green stripe across the back.

To be fair, they could perhaps go with 2 + 2 seating on all the Aventuras, but with proper standing rails throughout like on the Southern 387s. See image below.

That would cover both needs, as long as the seats were cushioned well, preferably with arm rests.

Another poorly chug I assume?

They were suffering a bit with the weather yesterday and to be fair it may be ice related today as it was pretty cold last night in Bucks / Northants.

I did see the other day when they had a prob with one chug it ran in service non-stop from Bletchley to Bedford - bet that was a fun ride !

Interesting - I'd have expected that in the other direction (to reach the depot) in the event of something like a door fault that required the doors to receive a kick each time (causing too much delay to stop) but not in that direction. I guess it was just catching up the timetable.

Could well just be staff having trouble getting to work having judged the road conditions wrongly - the roads are treacherous around here at the moment, most residential streets are barely good for 15mph and the main grid roads, normally 60/70mph, only good for 40-50. Better to arrive late than not at all.

The Chug bros were fine, the staff were on time but the signalling broke down. i suspect frozen points near Bedford. But the thought of purple paint was warming as
i waited in the snow ;)

Could do. Bombardier are currently supplying Aventras with everything from the 2+2/longitudinal Metro layout of Crossrail, to the 3+2 high density seating layout that will be delivered to Greater Anglia. It remains to be seen where the West Midlands trains will fall along that spectrum.

No idea - When you are stood in the snow and freezing cold it hardly matters...........................

Totally understand - just suggesting that (if that incident is the case) whilst it is extremely frustrating the LNR team can't really be blamed for it, especially with current conditions. I'll try and find out more.

To most passengers LNWR deliver the service and so are to blame regardless.

On Sunday I traveled from Tamworth to Bletchley. The trains were up the spout but the guard was invisible. He made one announcement as the train pulled into Rugby to indicate it would terminate there. No information about onward travel. Lovely new franchise: Same old LM comms.

I simply wish people would focus more on the service and less on the colour of the guards tie, the colour of a door or the badge used on the side of the train. For passengers there are bigger issues.

I would expect the long-distance ones to be 2+2 in a layout similar to the 350/1 or new Electrostars, quite possibly with ironing board seats, and the suburban ones to be identical to the 3+2 ones for Greater Anglia.

It would be nice if First Class was 2+1 (I would start using it then), but I doubt it will be.

But that's just opinion/conjecture, no details have been released yet.

Hot off the press: both Bombardier and CAF have signed on the dotted line this morning, re the new Rolling Stock Orders worth £680 Million:

http://www.bombardier.com/en/media/...ck-and-maintenance-contra.bombardiercom.html?

http://www.railtechnologymagazine.c...-680m-deal-for-new-west-midlands-trains-stock

First DCO/downgrading of guards ballot penned in for first week of January or not long after then I reckon - "welcome to our brand new dawn, to be crowned with months or years of industrial action to ruin your lives" strikes again - I'll put 50p on it :frown:

Is there any evidence DOO is being proposed? It's not been mentioned at all yet.

The now standard stuff about 'retaining a second person' while specifically not referring to the word 'guard' as pioneered by Greater Anglia and South Western Railway was in the news as far back as August - http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/uk-england-40886873

If DCO doesn't feature I'll eat my hat. I am however quite sure full DOO won't make an appearance at least on the PTE area services.

Agreed, even if DCO/DOO isn't planned, you can bet Mr Cash will be demanding a "cast iron guarantee" that nothing whatsoever will be changing when the new stock starts arriving (similar to SWR), and when Abellio are unable to give said guarantee will be when the ball starts rolling.

If anything, I suspect the new stock might be operated in a "Driver Open, Guard Closes" style.
