Hi Dean

I have got my start date for January as well, I had my confirmation letter and contract through by email, but they have to make two changes to it cause they put wrong depot and it had London midlands in the last paragraph.

Have you received your pack through the post yet?

yes mate, it came through today, 8th of Jan start date, apologies in advance if you have already mentioned this on the forum previously but how long did all the process take for you, mine has been the best part of two years, hope it's worth the wait.

Well I left before the post got delivered so fingers crossed it is there when I get home, I feel bad as I only started this in June and was offered in July this year

Hi all ..first post . Birmingham area.
Applied in Feb.. chased and chased. Finally got interview in late October. Passed interview now waiting on medical and course start. Anyone else starting a course soon in Birmingham area? My online status on application still says short listing- show booked assessment. Any one have the same.

Welcome to the forum,

I have passed everything and have my start date for January but it depends which depot is going to be your Home Depot as they do the courses in order of area, well done on passing the interview btw

Well my nearest depot would be new street . But snow hill or Moore Street is also right new to newstreet. Which depot will you be working from? And when did you get confirmation email of interview success.? Also to they email or call to tell you of medical/start date..

Mine is going to be Bletchley, I think they have recently done new street so I don’t know when they will arrange again, I got a call to arrange my medical then an email to confirm I passed it

I have a start date in January for New street depot, I believe they are also looking for worcester for a January start date.

Hi,
Had my interview in August, they originally offered me a start date last October but couldn't take it then. I first applied in the summer of 2016.

i remember a few wording may be wrong but its something along lines of.....
a time given good customer service
why do we follow rules and req???
a time when you chnaged someones way of thinking to yours
what would you do if someone didnt want to buy a ticket
what is the role of sc
what do you know about us
something about what are danger/safety on an off train or what to be aware of can not remember this.
Clearly i failed was super gutted but my first in over 10 years so happy for the experience and that i passed tests
I really want the questions any one can remember as i went to interview thinking they were going to ask me many things never even asked an i was super nervous as i really wanted job
Any help advise feedback be amazing thanks

Why is it fair for someone to give you the exact questions. You have already had 1 interview so obviously would have a head start over others applying if you got to the same stage again.

Hi guys. I am waiting for a start date for the role of TSC at the Stourbridge depot. I haven't had any contact with anybody from the company since passing my medical in mid October. My current workplace area aware of my successful application and consequently I am growing tired of the constant "have you heard anything yet?" questions. With the change over to West Midland Railway recently I am just curious as to whether I have anything to be worried about in regards to my application?

Just wondering how all you guys who’ve started training are getting on?

I’ve found out today that I’ve passed the interview stage so just the medical- anything to be wary of there?! (I don’t smoke, take drugs and rarely drink).

I had my interview on 2nd Feb, was told we’d hear back by last week but didn’t receive any info so I emailed HR, then was told they are still interviewing but I had passed the interview process. Perhaps drop them a quick line?

Well I've reapplied for Senior Conductor I've passed all the tests given me including the new situational judgement test . I've passed the Trainee train driver SJT too. I hold a PTS . Can anybody give me some advice please for the interview.

Regarding the PTS, you’ll probably be reassessed anyway as it’s non-transferable generally (unless you work for NWR probably?).

These interviews are generally standard competency based interviews (“give me a time when you’ve had to do XYZ?” type thing). Since you hold PTS and judging by your profile it looks like you’re in the rail industry already? Just focus everything on safety and customer service and you’ll be fine.

Like said above its just situation questions but obviously big on safety I have put some of the questions in an above comment
Being a tsc now it's hard to actually remember the actual questions but it was like a chat try not to stress use the star method if that helps write it down i found that helped after failing my first interview they gave me that as feedback

I'm in the sift of applications but I've passed SJT , and the assessments for guard last year. Ok I need a pen and paper to write this lot up .x
