Whilst not the busiest station on the network, the fact it’s adjacent to Uttoxeter race course, and the closest station to both Alton Towers & the JCB factory, it’s certainly not quiet.

Southampton to Northampton is a longer journey than some might expect. There was a story recently about a traveller in London who found he/she had just missed a bus to Southampton. Rather charmingly this person saw a bus to Northampton departing soon after and caught it on the basis he/she could get off when it reached Hampton and walk the rest of the way.

In the Netherlands we have a Barendrecht, Zwijndrecht and Dordrecht. There is also a Zwijndrecht in Belgium. There is also a Bedum, Stedum and Loppersum. Of course there is an Essen in Belgium and Germany.

One that comes to mind is Davenport (Cheshire/Greater Manchester) to Devonport (Devon).

Also a tripartite possibility of Springfield (Fife), Springburn (Glasgow), and Spring Road (Birmingham).

One I have thought about for Welsh speakers here: Pen-y-Bont (Powys/ former London & North Western Railway section of the Heart of Wales line) to Pen-y-Bont (Mid Glamorgan/ former Great Western Railway South Wales Main Line). Can anybody guess the Mid Glamorgan one?

Some fare dodgers from stations further afield make use of that journey as the DLR station at Stratford International hasn't got ticket barriers (similar Stratford High Street)
