We now need 1000 Subs, Something very few Transport Channels have
https://youtube-creators.googleblog.com/2018/01/additional-changes-to-youtube-partner.html

Starting today we’re changing the eligibility requirement for monetization to 4,000 hours of watchtime within the past 12 months and 1,000 subscribers. We’ve arrived at these new thresholds after thorough analysis and conversations with creators like you. They will allow us to significantly improve our ability to identify creators who contribute positively to the community and help drive more ad revenue to them (and away from bad actors). These higher standards will also help us prevent potentially inappropriate videos from monetizing which can hurt revenue for everyone.

Those changes are fine by me, and shouldnt be too much of a problem for most people (except those that only ever upload the same units at the same station every 5 minutes).
If you're producing good quality content then you're bound to do fine with those requirements.

With only a little over 1,000 subscribers and 8000 watch hours on my profile for last 365 days, i've got a feeling some people are going to struggle. I've put in quite a bit of money to help make my content interesting, and keep people interested in my travels but my videos still get average of 100 views per video. Guess its down to luck at the end of the day. Im putting good quality seo keywords into the tags title and description but far too much competition out there.

Regardless of youtubes requirements, I would still like to visit and record trains at every UK station.
Saying youve been to every one just isn't enough so I'd like to get video of every train station in the UK as something to show for it

Just as I had got reasonably close to the previous restoration threshold of 10,000 views... Now I need to try to find another 989 subscribers somehow...

What's your channel called mister mugridge? I'd happily pass you a sub.
I'm sure you've already done the same to me so it's only fair I offer you the same courtesy ;)

Thanks; it's simply in my name.

Just a heads up that it's not all railway stuff on it. At the moment I have 40 videos up in total; had a long pause between numbers 38 and 39 but I should be able to add something at least every couple of weeks now, most likely at weekends - it's the editing time really; I have quite a lot of stuff to wade through from my late father in law's collection but I need to weed out the more deteriorated bits and the bits that simply aren't of general interest or which are family specific. The one of the Churnet Valley route that I recently highlighted in the history forum was easy as it didn't require any editing - just a straight "in" and "out" cut and upload. Whereas the 1970 Lourdes one took about three hours in total for editing and uploading...

Once I've got through all that, I will turn my attention to extracting bits from my own home movie DVDs. I have some quite interesting bits on those, such as the triple landing at Heathrow on Concorde's last day in commercial use...

Not sure if I have subscribed to any other channels, I'll have to have a look and start doing so... Just let me know what your is and I'll check it out soonest...

I am on 78 Subs and never wanted to go around asking for Subs but it looks like we are going to be forced into it, My best videos come from Stafford where i can expect almost 500 views each time, With so few Transport Youtubers being on 1000 Subs i feel this is going to kill off a lot of channels like mine that where happy just making a little money on the side

Another note is with my Channel i feel that the Subscriber count does not represent how big my channel actually is, for example in the last 28 days only 7.6 Percent of my views came from my Subcribers
