Out of interest..... for those on courses, are there any candidates over 40?
It certainly does! I’m 48 and seriously thinking about this opportunity!!If it's makes you feel better Superfly I'm 50 and will put in for it, in for a penny etc
Have people added cover letters as well as CV's ? Having recently retired applying for a job is somewhat new to me
That’s really encouraging!!I passed out in Sept the day after my 47th birthday
Apparently the oldest they've taken on is 61
I submitted a cover letter with my application highlighting transferable skills from my current role...If it's makes you feel better Superfly I'm 50 and will put in for it, in for a penny etc

course ends at 5pm....*Are we there* Get use to that phrase lolThose that have started their course what time do you finish during the first 3 weeks at Ashfield House?
How's the training getting on? Do you know if there's a high percentage of people who fails the training? I've noticed your posts over the last few months and just curious on how you are finding itcourse ends at 5pm....*Are we there* Get use to that phrase lol
Training is good.. you do get tested through training tho( rolling eyes) but it's all good and exciting....and nerve racking at the same time ...but at times you may have to do dead early shifts to drive the 1st train into service etc hence the time of this message. .....but it is cool...How's the training getting on? I guess they have been inundated and I missed the boat. I was under the impression that the job would be open until 1 April and even HR told me 3 weeks from 5th March. I went to my part-completed application this morning to add my CV and cannot access the vacancy any more. Sad days for me but the best of luck to those of you that did manage to get an application in.
Edited to say that I have just called HR who said they pulled the job early due to a high volume of applocations.
Why did you not finish it earlier?
No way do you rely on that closing date especially more people are aware of this vacancy....you should of updated straight away and completed it....surprised it was still up on the 6thI started on Thursday, got to the part where we have to submit a CV, where I'm pretty certain it said "Optional", so left it and pressed submit. I left it as my CV was not up to date and I wanted to get the application registered. Also, when I applied for last year's campaign I was told by HR that they do not even look at the CVs. When I pressed submit I got an error message saying I had not attached my CV so came out with the intention of updating my CV over the weekend. The rest, as they say, is history.
The lesson for the rest of you is to make sure you keep your CV updated. This is so annoying, as I know I could have attached my old CV to get through the application and then gone back and updated it later.
I've sent a begging email to HR but we all know which bin that will end up in. I only usually drink on holiday, but tonight might be an exception!
