The new campaign open is to join a waiting list for available jobs its says. So everyone be aware just in case you solely rely on one application and don’t hear anything for a while.

Patience is key guys.

Just seen the new add it says 12 days annual leave. The campaign I applied for said 15 days annual leave. Do you reckon I will be under the old terms? I've also noticed that the new one doesn't say free travel for one other but my campaign did. Can anyone shed any light?

I don't remember TFL being particularly quick last time. Applied end of March and had the assessment centre invite on 1st June!

The leave change does seem a bit odd, unless it's a mistake in the advert?

If it's makes you feel better Superfly I'm 50 and will put in for it, in for a penny etc

Have people added cover letters as well as CV's ? Having recently retired applying for a job is somewhat new to me

I passed out in Sept the day after my 47th birthday
Apparently the oldest they've taken on is 61

Hi guys I've just completed my SJT. I did apply for this last year and was invited to AC1 but had to pull out unfortunately. But I'm now in a good position to see this through so fingers crossed. Good luck to everyone else who is applying.

It certainly does! I’m 48 and seriously thinking about this opportunity!!
Re cover letter... No, just a very brief CV with the application.

I submitted a cover letter with my application highlighting transferable skills from my current role...

How's the training getting on? Do you know if there's a high percentage of people who fails the training? I've noticed your posts over the last few months and just curious on how you are finding it :)

Training is good.. you do get tested through training tho( rolling eyes) but it's all good and exciting....and nerve racking at the same time ...but at times you may have to do dead early shifts to drive the 1st train into service etc hence the time of this message. .....but it is cool...

I'm guessing there's no flexibility in training?

I guess they have been inundated and I missed the boat. I was under the impression that the job would be open until 1 April and even HR told me 3 weeks from 5th March. I went to my part-completed application this morning to add my CV and cannot access the vacancy any more. Sad days for me but the best of luck to those of you that did manage to get an application in.

Edited to say that I have just called HR who said they pulled the job early due to a high volume of applocations.

Why did you not finish it earlier?

I suspect that he didn't think it was going to close - given that he was told it was open to April 1st! Having said that, there is a lesson there as I applied for one but didn't have time to finish it there and then, and when I went back (before the advertised closing date) it had closed.

The driving jobs are always vastly oversubscribed it seems, so they can close the vacancy whenever they feel they have enough applicants.

I started on Thursday, got to the part where we have to submit a CV, where I'm pretty certain it said "Optional", so left it and pressed submit. I left it as my CV was not up to date and I wanted to get the application registered. Also, when I applied for last year's campaign I was told by HR that they do not even look at the CVs. When I pressed submit I got an error message saying I had not attached my CV so came out with the intention of updating my CV over the weekend. The rest, as they say, is history.

The lesson for the rest of you is to make sure you keep your CV updated. This is so annoying, as I know I could have attached my old CV to get through the application and then gone back and updated it later.

I've sent a begging email to HR but we all know which bin that will end up in. I only usually drink on holiday, but tonight might be an exception!

No way do you rely on that closing date especially more people are aware of this vacancy....you should of updated straight away and completed it....surprised it was still up on the 6th
