Just to point out that there is a substantial existing thread on the night tube with a wealth of information!

Yeah, but it'll be good to have this one for the current crop. Mine's in!

A good stepping stone to a full time job or a Maniline driver's role?

[probably already answered a dozen other times in other threads, but lets get straight to the point]

Not really to mainline driving, as a TOC won't consider you a qualified driver. So you'd be applying from square one.

From what I'm reading on various forums, people have been moved to full time after a year or so(if anyone knows more please correct me). Thats whats causing the current problems with the night tube, driver are being moved full time with not enough replacing them. See this post on DistrictDaves forum. link

I applied. TFL have an amazing benefits package, and a good pension scheme, coupled with driving trains it seems like a no brainer.
I had previously applied, but as an internal candidate when these first came about. Missed out due to shift pattern caused me not to reply to an email quick enough with my staff number (contracting to LU, not directly employed). Fingers crossed for this round!

I applied when they first started doing Night Tube. Got as far as having an interview with a depot manager.

Similar here, made it to interview stage and failed there. Annoying that they don't provide feedback, although understandable as there are so many candidates.

Sorry, if this has been asked/mentioned/answered before!
So I understand that Tube and Mainline are two different things.
So, how about the 2 "lives" thing?
If one fails any assessment tests for this vacancy, is it gonna affect applying for mainline vacancies?
Thanks in advance for your responses!

Thank you for clarifying this.
Also, once we are at it - does the Tube also has "two lives" policy in place?

It’s about £1850 during training and then £1450 every 4 weeks ( x13 a year) once you pass your road test

Any advice on the Safety Awareness competency?

Last time I had a question about how I'd influenced health & safety policy in the workplace. Something what I've never done and isn't part of my job(I do IT Support). So I struggled quite a lot with that question. The other three I'm ok with, as I have plenty of examples for each.
