67012 working top and Tail with one of the Royal 67s has today worked 1D19 1505 Kings Cross - Leeds, and 1A48 1845 Leeds - Kings Cross.

Longer journey time as limited to 100mph but better than cancelling a service.

Maybe even get them to talk to each other - they could then hit 110 mph without bother. Better still, sort out the relevant issues to enable 125 mph running.

Assume Class 91 faults are high after last weeks big freeze- hence to TnT of a MK4 set on KGX-LDS trip.
Is this the first time MK4 have been hauled by anything apart from Class 91/90?

I would say this is the 1st time that I am aware where there has been no class 91 attached and just a 67 hauling in public use?

Class 31s and 47s did back in the early 1990s. The “wrong kind of snow” caused chaos fairly soon after they were introduced. They changed the grills if i recall. I think BR used anything they could find to keep the service going.

Forgot as well class 89 was a regular on GNER.

0705 London kx - Leeds
1005 Leeds - London.
1305 London - Leeds
1605 Leeds - London

Was its prefered Daigram.

There probably has been times when a 91 has had to be removed from a set due to a fault with a 67 going on the front to drag the coaches to complete the journey or to the next major station.

Although scheduled 67+Mk4s in public service probably is quite rare.

Although fair play to VTEC for attempting to run the service with a shortage of locos, other operators probably would have thrown in the towel and cancelled the service.

Quoted elsewhere as 20 91s available for 26 diagrams, hence use of two Class 90s, Class 67s and HST hire-ins from EMT.

I understand VTEC have had a really bad week reliability/availability wise. The snow and ice issues really hit them hard.

Yes the DVT was still tucked behind the 67 when I saw it at Doncaster yesterday

Wish I had been able to get down to Leeds to see this.. was Class 82 attached still at the other end?

Sometimes i wonder if people feel good about this kind of point scoring post. We all knew what was meant here so what were you trying to get out of this post?
Factual accuracy.

Are you feeling all smug and satisfied, too, about your post?

Why should i be? Unnecessary pendent posts like yours their adds no value to the forum, but i glad you got your “I know more that you buzz”. If you want to inform fair enough - but don’t do it in such a belittling way. I will leave it there - don’t want to upset the moderators as i have probably already overstepped the line.

Accuracy is never to be sneezed at. Hopefully, the OP knows a little bit more now than he did previously.

Nothing wrong with correcting someone, but the example above came across as needlessly rude.
