Well, obviously your leg wasn't being pulled so apologies for that, first and foremost.

It does look like this RR is attracting a number of vehicles that are spare and heading for pastures new.

2016 saw Bristol receive a load of brand new Streetdecks that were diverted on delivery to help cover a major RR job between Bristol and Bath, before they were finally allowed to head to Norwich. Similarly, some 2012 B9s were also send via Bristol for another job later in 2016, diverting on their way between Leeds and Norwich.

During 2015, there was a huge closure for the electrification work east of Bath and that saw rather older fleet (knackered B7TLs and Tridents) appearing from Somerset, Devon and Cornwall, and South Wales IIRC. All adds to the variety.

@TheGrandWazoo I knew I wasn't being fooled! The guy I get info from always has 99.9% accuracy in what he says, and the other guy tells me when the buses have arrived at what depot (camborne/taunton)

Now all we gotta do is wait for the Marshall & solos to head off, and to receive all the presidents we're being given as well as the two Solos.

Also is it just me or do Chelmsford love EO02 plate solos? As every time one disappears it ends up with them, no joke.

There's a rail replacement job from today until Thursday (inc) between Penzance and Truro, plus St Ives branch line, for re-signalling.

35149/150, 44510, 69537/538/539 are the only ones said to be coming down to cover for rail rep, some coaches will most likely attend as well with the Scania MMC (Possibly)

There will be a lot of Rail Replacement work around the southwest over the remainder of this year. According to GWR's website it looks something like this for the time being in the South West:

30/03 - 03/04: Bristol Temple Meads - Bath Spa / Bristol Parkway / Weston-s-Mare / Taunton / Severn Beach
21/04 - 22/04: St. Austell / Par - Plymouth.
12/06 - 14/06: Exeter St. Davids - Tiverton Parkway & Barnstaple
18/06 - 08/07: Bristol Parkway - Newport
13/10 - 14/10: Devon & Cornwall (nothing more specific than that as to location)
27/10 - 28/10: Exeter St. Davids - Barnstaple
03/11 - 04/11: Par - Newquay
24/11 - 25/11: St. Erth - St. Ives
01/12 - 02/12: Cornwall (nothing more specific than that as to location)

And, in addition, I gather that there will be a closure from Bristol Parkway to Bristol Temple Meads in October to allow for commissioning of the 4-track layout along Filton Bank: I presume that there will be extra lines through Stapleton Road as well.

Demo Scania E400MMC is indeed on rail replacement this morning, seen at Hayle heading towards Penzance 30 mins ago.

35149 and 35150 at St Erth earlier, the latter still with First West of England legal lettering.

Both streetdecks have FWoE legals, checked them today. All the vehicles mentioned seen today along with coach 23019.
Other vehicles on Rail replacement work included coach 23010, Solo's 53151 & 53206, Vario 56003 and Dart 43856.
An unidntified pink fronted Trident and 32874 on T1 services. E400 MMC's 33546 & 33464 on service A17 along with 33236 recently arrived from Norwich.

Someone high up at BoS has posted on a Facebook enthusiasts group that the two streetdecks are permanent transfers to Penzance.
I believe can run for up to 28 days with incorrect legals under short term hire.

The East Norfolk bus blog (as linked by another poster) quoted Chris Speed (who I think is the rather enthusiast friendly Ops Manager for First EC) that the Streetdecks are due in Norwich after RR work

Aled kowaski (Williams) is the person who posted on Facebook they are now permanent to cornwall. I believe he’s BoS ops manager. Likewise he’s very much engaged with enthusiast groups on facebook. He hinted that this is a recent change of plan for these 2 vehicles.

Either way with such ops managers around the country who are so engaging it shows why most First ops groups are so good at Social media updates on their services

If they are for Cornwall permanently, then it’s about time we had some more 07-16 plate buses. Also, if they remain in Cornwall after RR work, what services will they be used for?

He’s put they are for Penzance, can only see them being suitable for the A17 from penzance on the basis the U4 has new MMCs due

Clearly one of them is wrong as Chris Speed was quoted on Saturday!

It would make more sense for them to head to Norwich where there are others of that type whereas the e400mmc is the preferred option for Kernow.

Most First operations would love to have some more vehicles of that age range!

The pink fronted Trident on the T1 this afternoon was 32760. Uni 33478 on the T1 seen in Hayle this morning.

Good to find Volvo B7TL 30871 still around, had a ride from Penzance to Lands End on this one earlier.

By early evening on rail replacement Dart 43856 had arrived parked at St Erth, and Scania 23313 481FPO on Penzance to Truro. Last time I had a ride on 481FPO was April 2015 as a Volvo Olympian!

@thameslink2000 I think 30871 - 30880 are probably going to be replaced with ex-london variant ALX400s, I know FSY have some, but anyway

Hopefully I'll be out and about on Wednesday in St Austell, so I'll be able to go and catch some more "rare" buses in action. Here's to hoping!

@TheGrandWazoo The streetdecks are being sent back after RR work is done this month, whoever said otherwise is wrong.

The one who told me the eclipses are coming down to cornwall even said that the OM of BoS is wrong, those eclipses are going up to manchester once RR is finished, the only things we are keeping are some Solos, Darts, and Presidents.

Once we've got the MMCs in service, there will be no more nimbuses in Cornwall except for EY05FYP, and no more old style presidents either (being sent elsewhere), the 51 & 52 plate presidents are staying until near the end of this year in August/September

I've also heard that we're still getting V---LGC plates from Ensign, V313LGC & V332LGC came to us quite recently according to a post on page 189, though no news of fleetnumbers yet, and I haven't seen them either.

Thanks Thameslink 2000, I saw 30871 at Penzance this afternoon but was surprised to see virtually all deckers on the A17 including two Tinner MMC’s. I thought there would be more Scania’s but just 65762 was on the route.

Being resident in Plymouth, it has been difficult to keep up with FSW happenings first hand. Although withdrawn some time ago no disposals appear to have been recorded by PSV Circle or others for many vehicles including:

Peter,

Welcome to the forum. I cannot provide any answers to your request for disposal details. Suffice to say that a number of the buses on the list are non DDA compliant and some from Plymouth. After withdrawal some of these were stored in Cornwall and eventually sold on EBay.

What happened to the majority I don’t know however this might help a little, perhaps someone else can elaborate.

I am sure a few are in preservation from that list again maybe others on here will be able to help.

48234 was broken for spares at Taunton. Think some of the Solos were broken at Summercourt. In neither case can I assist with the final resting place.

Similarly, 60814 ended up in Muller Road in Bristol so likely ended up in some Carlton yard.
