Confirmed today by Mark Hopwood/GWR.
New 20x1 hour series of Paddington 24/7 is being filmed by ITV studios for Channel 5. Filming started this week and will end in July.
Mark does state 20, 1 hour long episodes but that does seem very excessive!

They struggled to fill the last series with content, how on earth are they going to fill 20 episodes?

What do you mean they struggled to fill the last series with content? I thought it was good.
There was a lot of padding and a lot of stuff not at Paddington but they kept saying it's really affecting services at Paddington so they were trying to keep it relevant

Alot off the incidents do effect everything at Paddington in the knock on effect.

They might mention the faeces on the track and how they're removed ...

What attracts the majority of the audience for these programmes is the characters, the human stories, rather than any great variety of situations that those individuals find themselves in. Throw in a few different locations and some interesting technology - along with no small element of schadenfreude - and you've got yourself a TV format. The fact that the programmes seem repetitive because the same, or very similar, scenarios keep cropping up doesn't really matter as long as the audience can relate to - or at least have some kind of emotional response to - the characters you feature. (I think we have to accept that the fact that we're on this forum puts is in a rather different group from the typical Channel 5 target audience!)

At least partly down to cost. It's an awful lot cheaper to film 20 episodes in one go than, say, as four series of five. They don't even have to show them as one series, they could easily schedule two blocks of ten, one six and two sevens, or four lots of five, for example.

They could always do a whole episode on the problems of Reading only travellers getting on a train that forbids it.
Mind you if someone had the sense to put up a notice at the platform end stating 'Any passengers alighting at Reading will be charged an excess fare of £xx.00, as this service is pick up only at Reading.... iT might spoil the fun

I think it would be better to give the programme TOC wide focus rather than having to tie in every segment with Paddington. More like 'The Railway: First Great Western', but with better continuity, would be about right, I feel.

Ah, I know the person who voiced that. I enjoyed that one.

I do believe that the next Series is actually being called Reading 24/7. There are signs around the station stating this. Though I haven't got any photos of them I'm afraid!

Some people were filming something when I boarded a class 800 at Paddington on the 4th of this month. I’m not sure whether it was related or not but we left 3L because of it shf arrived at Reading about 10L due to missing a path no doubt.

I saw them filming in Paddington just before Christmas. Graeme who works in Station Control and featured in the last series was taking a camera crew around the station, so I assume he will be featuring heavily again.

More than likely, there were a few familiar faces from the previous series.

Interesting until they realised they’d only got 45 mins of footage of the beast from the east, So had to throw in some other random stuff at the end.

I agree, the whole "security incident" seemed very randomly chucked in.
