There's only one line at present and it currently terminates at New St., so any tram will do.
Thank you Duffield. I checked my train and it doesn’t call at Moor St. so no tram for me today. I tried the Birmingham transport website for guidance but it was so confusing I gave up!

Exit - it's hard enough finding your way from one platform to another.

Last week I was travelling from Banbury wanting to make a tight connection with the Liverpool train which I know always goes from 4c. I don't know what platform I came in on but it was crowded making it hard to get to the escalators. So I got in a lift and found myself in a concourse with no access to lower numbered platforms. There wasn't even a sign on that concourse telling you which way to go.

Eventually I discovered I had to go back down to platform level again and go up again somewhere else to another concourse. Talk about passenger hostile. And this is the station where they frequently change platforms at very short notice.

As mentioned in other threads since the revamp, it's much easier to use the 'B' end to change platforms via the old bridge. This is not very well signed at platform level. The 'A' end is divided into 3 zones to allow public access from the Bullring in between these zones through the station without having to go through barriers.

Also as mentioned in this thread, the easiest way to change onto the Kidderminster line is to get one of the 4 tph from New St to Smethwick Galton Bridge (weekday off-peak at xx01 local, xx08 Liverpool, xx25 ATW and xx39 local) and change on to one of the 4 tph direct to Kidderminster.

Good job the Post Office Vaults is nearby.

As you seem to like your ale, in Kidderminster don't miss the King & Castle, Weavers or the Beer Emporium, all near the station. In Birmingham, also near New St, the new Head of Steam in Temple St is getting rave reviews as well as the Wellington, of course.

Sheds.

Ah hah! Thank you for the ale advice, much appreciated.

Just left Snow Hill on a Worcester SH service. Was off the Pendo onto Navigation St within 30 seconds via the bridge at the west end. Free BabyBells being given out today. About 7 mins walk to Snow Hill via the cathedral; very pleasant indeed.

Missed my planned train by 30 seconds due to the Peno being 20L due some incident around Nuneton(?).

Thanks again for all the tips.

PS: Saw a tram with pink trim! Novel colour never used by the Corporation I suspect.

Enjoy. I usually do the same, but it's an uphill walk from New St so some people find it easier to change at Moor St/SGB.

The trams are about to go blue, so this could be the last time you see a pink one if you're not a regular in these parts.

New branding (but not yet any new trams in the new branding) at:

I assumed that HS2 offered exciting new journey opportunities and linked up all the Birmingham stations a la Thameslink and Crossrail...
You assume wrong :P

HS2 is more about high speed travel, getting from London to the Midlands and beyond quicker than what is currently possible... al la HS1 and the Kent trains, or Eurostar.

It's about the additional capacity rather than the speed.
