A lot of the delays in NR are down to the hiring manager.

It’s a combination of a number of things, if you have internal people to they’ll need releasing from their role to attend appointments etc

Recruiting manager will have to find a day two managers can form the panel from a small pool of training people, not to mention the real deal recruitment team (no the call centre people) who have to deal with it all.

They wouldn't advertise them if they didn't need them. Just patience is required... You'll laugh about all this once you get the job.

Hit the nail on the head there... it’s a much better view from the other side though ;)

It’s a grade 2 mate. Still awaiting news on the Wimbledon grade 7. That would be great if they arrive in an email it will make things I guess a lot quicker

Congrats Sinistah! As mentioned you will get a Formal Offer Pack email with the contract, a form to fill in and other information about pensions, etc...

Best of luck!

Cheers! I’d like to say a big thank you to everyone who supported me by answering any questions that I’ve had through my time on this forum. It’s been a long old slog having started applying in July 2017. All I’d say is keep going and it will come. This is just the beginning though the hard work starts at signaller school. Special thanks to Train87 who has been there from the start offering advice throughout the recruitment journey.

You got offered both the Grade 2 and Grade 7 ?

That’s fantastic news, massive congratulations!
The same thing happened to me offered a grade two, in the week before the verbal offer and contract coming I got offered a grade 7.

Take the 7 obviously it’ll put you in very good stead for the future.

Welcome to the mad house !

Gilberdyke junction signal box on network rail site. I believe it is a grade 3? Closing date 12 July.

Ferriby to Gilberdyke resignalling scheme has been put back, I think until early 2019 - will check the exact date when I'm back in work tomorrow - hence the need for a FTC to fill a gap.
