Also... out of interest I've just been tracking "172Z" past Rugby and I decided to go out and see it as I live close, but turned out to be a 390. Any reason why it had an obscured headcode and what service this was on?

I noticed that as well but I also noticed it changed its headcode from 172Z to 171Z in the Crewe area.I did some asking and it turned out to be 1S06 1928 Euston to Glasgow, usual 390.The timings fitted passing Rugby 2023. I saw it pass a cam so can confirm. But no idea as it why it was in disguise as 171Z.
All i can assume, pure speculation, is that it had a VIP or 2 on board and it needed a special headcode so as to alert the signallers on its trip. Maybe someone can correct me if Im wrong ?
