So I guess 10217 won't do any of the Veg Express trains and is the reason why yesterday's and last Saturdays services cause the staff was watching the World Cup?

Tbh, if 217 gets to go on the veg ex, we think it will get trashed but it is planned for that set.
Cancellations are currently due to staffing levels compounded by the fact not all PZ drivers, who operate the veg, are 57 signed.

10601 is back refurbished. Coach D is now to be allocated the easy access berth coach. 612 and 616 are destined to be the other two, currently at Wolverton so the other set currently has a SLEP 105xx vehicle in its place.
Was mentioned in thread previously but some way back now !
601 does have door problems though !

liking that you can do Plymouth to Taunton sleeper up then Taunton to Plymouth down in one night.

How is it decided how many coaches are in the formation? Today it is three but the last time it ran, three weeks ago, it was four.
Is it meant to be four but drops to three if there is a problem with a vehicle or is it something else?

Currently should be the brake, open second and buffet from the Riviera, coaches A,B & C (see fleetlist post 904)
The fourth was on a test run.
Extra seated coaches have been added as per special events etc but currently, vehicles are away for refurbishment.

The return run has been cancelled at Newton Abbot due to a brake fault.

Newly refinished D coach 10612 should go into service in tonights up giving both sets an easy access berth and 2 easy access toilets per set. Once the doors/soap dispenser/ water works !
On board staff training continues on first refurb buffet/lounge 10217 but still has no air con unit !

Today's Veggie looks doubtful. 602/5 just left Truro with down Sleeper - at time of posting !
Delayed through engineering works and 2 playing up.

1C99 was not delayed by engineering works but by another failed train in the Dauntsey area then near Newton Abbot primarily due to locomotive issues.

Well August is almost upon us and the tail end of it will see me down there again. What are the chances of the veggie being a runner on 25th Paul? Too early to say from recent history perhaps?

Overrunning engineering works between newton abbot and totnes were attributed to 2.5 hours delay!

Actually on it!!! 12 late off Truro but going well. Sat in lounge car (if that's what it's called). First class seats but zero padding, numb backside imminent....
