Sundays are part of the working week on the East side. No idea what the shift patterns are like but earliest trains off Heaton in the morning are 05.15 which is empty to Middlesbrough and first service train is the Newcastle - Chathill. Think the last train back on a night-time used to be from Hexham unless it has changed in the recent timetables.

it was open for 4 days from the 19th to 22nd, I also applied.

Anyone know if they are only filling one position or multiple or talent pool or what?

One Leeds guy appears to have heard something. It was posted at the same time as this one. Seems there is progress being made by HR. Anyone heard anything?

Still waiting for Newcastle. I think the need for more drivers is more acute in the south of the region so they could be prioritising. Hopefully no news is still good news for us hoping for Newcastle.

I emailed HR a couple of days ago to enquire as to whether I’d been successful or otherwise and due to high applications they’re still working through the applications. At least for Newcastle.

A MDD within Heaton from is starting one Newcastle mainline driver vacany in September but that should be different from yourselves applying as it is was from a previous advertisement that got delayed.

Nope.

A Heaton MDD has a provisional start date on a course in November, it isn’t carved in stone by any means.

Why the fk people come on here and give half-ar5ed info is beyond me, clouding the already muddy water helps no-one. Especially creating a new account to talk crap.

Stick to what you actually know, not what you’ve heard secondhand.

There is a possibility that applicants will start receiving invites to interview from this week, sifts have been delayed due to high volumes of applicants across all of the latest jobs with Northern, also staff were required to help with the Tall Ships representation.

That's a negative. Other than the thread suggesting one of the Heaton Depot drivers is starting a course as a mainline driver around September/October. They're going to have to hurry themselves up if they want to get any of us through recruitment in time to join him!

The MDD role at Heaton appeared a few weeks before the driver role and those interviews took place beginning of July. If similar timescales (although guess Driver CV sift may be larger) I’d guess maybe early August for interviews possibly/hopefully!

Likewise. And here I was hoping to hear something before the end of my annual leave. It would make going back to work so much easier!

Emailed HR: “Unfortunately we have still not fully moved forward in the recruitment process for this role yet. We should have an update in the next few weeks.”

Thanks for the update. After all this wait I hope it's good news for all of us on here.
