At risk of an off-topic deviation from the thread title, I'm going to bring it back to the topic at hand - liveries.
Gen from a source at Northampton Kings Heath tells me that the 350/1s are due to have corrosion repairs after the /2s are all done, and the /1s will then be repainted after that

Strange that such modern units need corrosion repairs...

They are around 10 years old and the bogies are the part of the train that will corrode the earliest as they are exposed to the elements, shock of bouncing around and general wear and tear. So like tyres they need to be change and corrosion proof for a good number of years.

Found this on google about corrosion and trains it’s in Norwegian and English

Indeed! As the /1s are older than the /2s, and Porterbrook wanted the /2s to be handed back in good nick (e.g. corrosion repairs), I think WMT decided it would make sense to do similar with the /1s. Of course, killing two birds with 1 stone to get the livery and (possibly) interior redone seems logical...

The 1s are due a C6 very soon anyway, a fleet manager said that all the external work Will be done together, corrosion repairs, overhaul and repaint.

Can’t they get the rest of 350/3 repainted?

The 1s are due a repaint the 3s aren't. Fleet availability is fairly tight there's no benefit in taking units out of traffic to revinyl. I've heard from high up that units will only be reliveried when work is due, they won't be taken out especially

I don't like it. There is/was nothing wrong with the light green London Midland branding. Nobody asked for dark green and purple. There is nothing positive to say about the patterned quadrilateral design. I'm looking forward to a more cool and fresh design being delivered by the new company next franchise.

That won't happen

We are stuck with this look for decades

Not necessarily decades, given TfWM may re-brand at some point, but you're certainly right that the WMT livery will be around for a good while, since it is separate to the franchising system much like Scotrail and London Overground.

On the other hand, the LNWR livery is tied to the franchise as I understand, so that could change during the next decade.

Nothing wrong with it except for the rather obvious point that it was the branding of the previous operator. As for the idea that no one asked for that particular colour combo that's true, but then they're not running a participatory democracy where branding decisions are put to a public vote.

I'd have rather they went to WMPTE blue and yellow but i guess we can say Midland Red is now back!

Coventry buses will remain sky blue but with TfWM branding

Could I refer you to a thread on the Buses section of this forum
https://www.railforums.co.uk/threads/buses-of-the-west-midlands-2018.162080/
where you will see in my posts 9 & 10 I have compared the new livery for West Midland buses with the old Midland Red. What goes around comes around.

Actually I realise that the Midland Red shows the genuine Midland Red livery rather than the National Bus red livery. The bus shown would have had three liveries as it was repainted in Wumpty blue and yellow.

The Mayor of the West Midlands has said that the trains will be orange, the trams blue and the buses red to show that it is an integrated transport system. Er?

There may be no plans to extend the Midland Metro to Coventry otherwise TfWM's colour coordinated policy will be up in the air with both buses & trams in blue in Coventry!

If a future tram system is introduced for Coventry, then I suppose this may be branded separately to the Metro if both systems are not linked. With a different name and the Coventry buses already in blue, then another colour will have to be selected for the Coventry trams therefore complicating TfWM's colour coordinated policy more!

As the West Midlands Metro is planned to reach the Airport and the NEC then logic would suggest a line from Coventry to connect with it.

This has recently appeared on Facebook, showing a 172 part-way through a new livery being applied. It is clear that this livery is different to what we have previously seen, with the purple ends apparently ditched in favour of orange.

Top-right appears to be a 170.

Appears to be much more of a 'gold' than an 'orange', which looks much better imo. Orange is an incredibly garish and 80s colour.

The Orange used to paint lamposts at Wolverhampton, Adderley Park and Water Orton is very much Orange though, so will the stations and trains be different colours? Or will they be repainted Gold too?

I think it's more of an orange than a gold, but the "shiny and new" appearance of the vinyled livery gives off the illusion that it's gold.
