I see that season tickets can be ordered online and delivered by first class post.
Are there any disadvantages to this as compared via a ticket office.

Ok thanks. If a season ticket is lost in the post (hopefully very uncommon) what happens then?

Usually retailers will only send them by recorded and signed-for delivery, insured to the value of the ticket. But if it did get lost, it's the retailer's problem. Until they deliver the ticket to you it's their problem.

If you apply for a refund later on, you may need to post the ticket back, and to only receive a refund from when they receive it. If there are ones where you can apply for a refund at a ticket office, remember that it has to be a ticket office belonging to the same TOC.
