RAAT is a rules and guidelines test. Gives you a passage of text to read about rules am regs on the raikway and it then gives you a question which is multiple test

RAAT is essentially reading comprehension: Can you pick out the correct answers from a passage of text. Usually two text paragraphs n three to four questions.
Importantly, all the answers are in the text- for example, if the text says elephants are blue n a question asks what colour elephants are, then, by jingo they're blue. Even though you know they're grey in real life.

You should have an example test in the assessment interview invitation. Indeed, there's a question on the formal assessment paperwork to confirm you had practice tests, with sufficient time to practice.

Also heard nothing back. For the Shrewsbury job. But the assessor said it might take upto 2 weeks before we hear anything from them. Only thing to do is keep fingers crossed and wait for an email but as I said before I thought I could have done better on the tests on the day so we’ll have to see.

There's an ad up for it.
Closes tonight.
I'm sure the last one closed back in March, as it was advertised at same time as Shrewsbury.
I could quite easily have got the wrong end of the stick mind.

Many Thanks

Shrewsbury jobs are up again.
Go through the main West Midlands Rail website- it'll correctly direct you to the Abellio jobs page.

Ate these up again because of the number of new starters needed- it does mention those waiting in the talent pool need not apply.

Congratulations!

For me it was 2 weeks from interview date to medical. You'll receive authority to travel on WMT for the medical.
I had a conditional offer- subject to drug test being clean and references- a few days after the medical, bang on my 4 wks notice for my current job.

I'm aware the large recruitment drive should effectively put the new staff in place for the December timetable change.

Let's say three months to get the guards school through, with a number of staggered courses.

Minus one month for the majority which will give four weeks notice.

Thus December change minus four months give or take a few weeks equals an August-y start date for most.

- that was as scientific as burning horse poo, but it's my best guess :)

There are at least two courses taking place two weeks apart in July, I have friends on both.

Sorry to bring up an old thread.
Applied on the 10th May, still haven't heard back. Emailed twice and I've been told I'm still in the manual sift?
Also been informed that I will have to retake the Conductor assessment, if my test results are older than 3 years(I am already a Conductor for Northern), I had my assessment day last year but I'm unsure if they would accept this?

Hi all, just got an email yesterday. Looks like I'm through the manual sift for Shrewsbury. The email says I will be invited on an assessment day. An email should follow with the dates.
