Pre-privatisation, I can't look past Intercity Swallow livery. I don't think there's been a classier livery anywhere in the world in the modern era, with the possible exception of GNER's. It looks good on absolutely anything it's applied to, from HSTs to Mk. 1s, and even locos that never carried it "for real" - like 50031.
Preach! For me it's the Connex South Eastern applied to the 365s and some of the 465s, always liked seeing them over the numerous ex-NSE 465s when visiting Kent seeing family. Plus the teal and tangerine on the former Midland Mainline HSTs and 170s was always striking to me when I rode on them as a child for annual trips to Nottingham.
The South Yorkshire one was an oddity, as was "Midline". The later West Midlands ones were just a variation on RR like the second GMPTE one mentioned earlier by someone.I was never overly enamoured with that one tbh.
I'd forgotten about the PTE liveries, Strathclyde's orange and black livery was very nice and the maroon and cream which replaced it was okay too. The less said about WMPTE's attempts the better.

The Bubble car one may well have been Midline, the later one appeared on many units including 310s, 323s and 150s. The West Yorkshire liveries (green & cream on the unrefurbished 141s, and the two versions of "Raspberry Ripple" that appeared on everything from refurbished 141s to 158s and 321s) were ubiquitous in my youth but weren't particularly impressive.Ah yes, another I'd forgotten about. That later RR inspired WMPTE livery did look okay, I only ever saw it on 310s. IIRC correctly there were 3 earlier attempts, 2 version with multiple shades of blue on a couple of bubble cars (or may have been the same one repainted), and a garish bright yellow and blue 312.

Yes, but only as a quick fix on cascaded ex-NSE stock, rather than an official scheme as such. Worn by at least one class 309, and a smattering of pressure ventilated mark 2s used on the likes of the North Wales coast. More information (and pictures) on the latter about two thirds of the way down the page here:I recall there being a regional Railways variant which was NSE but with a light blue stripe instead of red (with the diagonals at the ends of the train.
When 37-hauled passenger services began in North Wales in 1993, many of the carriages used were transferred from Network South East, having been used in locomotive-hauled trains between London Waterloo and Exeter. On arrival at Edge Hill depot they had the red line of the NSE livery over-painted with Regional Railways light blue so that they looked more like the proper RR livery. They were repainted in correct regional railways colours as time permitted: the last one to be repainted was 35518 in October 1995.
Another vote for IC Swallow and Class 50s with large logo.
I also like the Pendolino new livery 'flowing silk' on the driving ends but really, really don't like the plain carriages now it's done away with the black strip along the window line. Somehow the carriages now look fat and bloated where they used to look sleek.
Any chance you (or anyone else) can link to a photo of this livery? A quick Google image search only revealed the standard "three stripe" version. We're talking about 2 different liveries, the one you refer too is the first version of the Centro branded livery with the green window band replacing the dark blue of RR which was indeed applied to a range of units. The 310 livery I mentioned earlier was also based on RR but with the pale blue stripe below the windows replaced by a stripe the same shade of blue as the window band.

Thanks, never seen that before but it looks pretty good. If anyone else was unaware, here's the unique "Midline" livery I mentioned. Note the logo is identical to the 310 example. Midline was a bit of a clunky name, glad it wasn't widely used! The 310 livery? Here you go:

The aircon hasn't been working half the time (They do operate 180s after all)!Grand Central is my favourite, although it must be making the aircon work overtime atm.
I've always thought the 310 scheme lacked any sort of impact - not enough contrast. I much prefer the emerald green Regional Railways/Centro scheme that followed. The triple-tone blue 121 livery I consider very appealing though - It'll certainly have seemed vibrant in an era just moving away from corporate BR blue. Thanks, never seen that before but it looks pretty good.
