Wish I could mate. Currently working abroad and my current employer won't give me the time off, absoultly gutted. I've asked to be considered to attend the assessment centre at a later date, we'll see if I hear back.
What a shame. Seems the hardest hurdle in the recruitment process is getting that invite off your application. Hope you get an alternative date sorted.

Was just wondering if anyone had been to a managers interview yet and if anyone has any advice on the questions that will be asked during the interview...? Also I do get a bit confused with the whole Abellio/Scotrail thing. I know Abellio are the TOC running the Scotrail franchise so were exactly do Scotrail fit into this. Do Scotrail own the whole infrastructure and Abellio just run the trains? But if anyone has been to a managers interview with Scotrail/Abellio would be grateful for any advice on the types of questions asked....

I'm sure the advert was for dundee/Perth and that was it...

.................. for the position of TRAIN DRIVER & QUALIFIED TRAIN DRIVER, PERTH/DUNDEE at PERTH

was what I got on the email. Maybe a typo but no big deal really!

Get by the assessment first or there is no interview :)

Good luck, I done mine for Glasgow a couple of weeks ago. They aren't too bad, the booklet prepares you well enough!

There wasn't for me anyway, probably because they had to mark everyone's tests etc. I can't say if that will be the same for you however, just passing on what happened for me.

Can't give any advice, I'm at the same stage as you but for Glasgow. Unsure of interview date yet but I imagine around the same time as you, wasn't told so good to know you've heard within a few weeks. Good luck.

That is what the email I received said. Over the next few weeks you will be contacted for the managers interview. I'd imagine they will still have a lot of people doing their assessments though. I'm in no rush I'm happy to wait a while before an interview as I hate interviews they are always nerve racking, you can't ever really prepare for how your going to feel on the day. Unless your lucky enough to just have that knack of doing interviews easily. Personally I just hate interviews and the whole way they make you feel.... Good luck though

I see Scotrail have announced a recruitment drive for 100 frontline staff (Drivers, Conductors and Ticket Examiners).

Will be interesting to see what areas this is for and if the drivers vacancies will be in addition to those recently advertised.

It's on their Twitter feed mate, was posted last night. If you Google 'Scotrail recruitment drive 2018' you'll find a few articles on it.

If you log onto their website and go to 'About' then 'Latest News' you'll find the article there.

Ideal mate, thanks. Sounds like good news. Hopefully draw on the current pool of prospective candidates. My application still shows as 'under consideration'. The waiting is horrible. Really starting to fear the worst.

I read a similar article the other day but it was network rail, not scotrail. They look after the rail infrastructure rather than anything to do with passenger services.

Both Network rail and Scotrail put out a statement about a recruitment drive, 100 positions with ScotRail and 200 with network rail. Stv news covered it but to be honest I think it was yesterdays news. I think this is about the current recruitment drive, not an additional recruitment drive.

The Conductor role is safety critical. Ticket Examiners are non-safety critical and work on Driver Only Operation (DOO) services without having any responsibility for the operation of the train.

Update: Just got the email inviting me to stage two: interview. Now it's time to prepare!
Feeling a bit unsure though because I'm pretty close to getting another job offer too--lesser pay, but a lot less stress and idk who knows if I'll even make it through the end of this application process :(

Could you not if offered the other job ask for time to speak to family etc before you make a decision and see if you can complete this recruitment as well?

How do you know the dundee jobs were pulled? Bit shocking if they have and they haven't informed people of this..

A bit late to reply I guess. Got an email 6th July stating that the Dundee jobs were on hold.
