Hi All has anyone attended an interview recently for a trainee train driver for Scotrail in Glasgow?
if so can you please advice what can I expect in this interview . I have mine on the 24th this month. Thanks
Pop79 is your interview for Glasgow Queen Street or Central? These are two different stations though ScotRail operates from both.
As for the interview, I found the managers to be generally friendly. Just research about the company, the role and be prepared to talk a little bit about yourself.
I can't tell you specifically what I was asked but the were general interview questions with a bit of a curve ball. Try to remain calm during the interview. Good luck.

I'm still under consideration. I know someone going through the process for another area of Scotrail in Glasgow and they have been told HR are mega short staffed due to holidays which is slowing everything down across all vacancies. True? No idea, but provides a glimmer of hope lol

There's over 30 scotrail drivers waiting in a Q to move to queen st so it won't be there.

Hi all - how many stages are in the application process for scotrail? Application, psychometric test, dmt interview, 2nd interview (with 3 panel members?) and medical. Am I missing or adding any?
Thanks in advance

These are a bit incorrect.
1) Application
2) Paper tests (not really psychometric)
3) DMI
4) Computer tests / MMI (more like psychometric)
5) Medical Assessment

Hi folks,

Just wondering for those of you that got passed the first assessment centre, how long a wait was it before you got a date for the managers interview?

Hi everyone I have received an email inviting me to attend the 2nd assessment which is the MMI and Computer tests after passing the driver manager interview . Just wondering are the MMI 6 questions still the same ? As I have previously sat the MMI with GTR in 2016 but I wasn't successful. Also I have passed the computer tests in December 2015 are those passes still valid or do I need to resit the computer tests ? As far as I know it is valid for 5 years . Is that correct ?? Cheers

Well done Pop79. I had my DMI interview before you and haven't heard back. I'm assuming they have finished interviewing everyone for Glasgow and are progressing those successful candidates. Hope so anyway... I'm in for Edinburgh so really hope to hear back soon.

Best of luck with the computer tests and MMI!

Hi there I had my driver manager interview last Friday.unfortunately they want me to resit the computer tests as I have done it a while ago in December 2015. Are they still the same the 3 computerised tests ? 2 hand co ordination , perception traffic test and flashing square ? . Hope best of luck to everyone

Pop79, Glad to hear you made it through the manager's interview. As for the validity of the test, it's 3 years. This was the information we received when I attended ScotRail assessment centre.

I was invited again to interview this week as I couldn't make a date couple of weeks ago. I'm bowing out now tho so good luck all left in.

Hi Hoyerman, is that results from recent DMI stage or is that for all stages of the recruitment process?

I don’t know specifics unfortunately, other than there is open talk of around 100 drivers getting started over the next 12 months.

Hi everyone. Has anyone that did the managers interview for the Edinburgh Bathgate roles had a reply yet. I did mine 2 weeks ago and was told usually hear back between 7 and 10 days if successful. So I'm fearing the worst that I've been unsuccessful to get to the MMI stage so I'm gutted. I'm still hanging on with a bit of hope its just a delay in the response. So if anyone has heard back could you let me know. Thanks

I'm still waiting to hear for Edinburgh too. Although, they did tell me during my interview it would be at least 2-3 weeks before I heard anything back... I'm sure if the answer was No they would have at least emailed back... I hope anyway...

I was told there were further interview dates (today being that last date) to capture those who couldn’t make the first round sent out so perhaps next week is realistic for emails to be sent

They have been doing internal interviews all this week for all locations, so unsure if that’s holding things up or not. I’d imagine all those that are unsuccessful will hear first.

Is there still a possibility if your application is still under consideration you can still progress through the process or is it more than likely that you will get a no thanks this time around?? Still waiting for the dundee/Perth role
