Nothing, sent OPC an email this morning at 8 asking if they can provide an update. You hear anything back mate?
I know what you mean, that’s what’s worrying me most now. I applied for Eastleigh, so my other theory was that as a couple of others for Eastleigh hadn’t heard yet, Eastleigh was one of the less priority depots? (I don’t think there’s as much in the way of freight in the south as there is in the north of the country?).Ideally I'd have been given a indication of when or something! I'm just fretting because it seems some guys who were there on the same day have sat their 2nd tests!
Maybe they just randomly dealt with some earlier than others, who knows?
I thought there would've been more seeing as Southampton docks is just down the road lolI know what you mean, that’s what’s worrying me most now. My other theory was the alphabet. Again. My surname begins with W.
I know and that’s why it’s an Intermodal depot I guess. But in the grand scheme of things there are a lot more freight movements ooooop north. I may be wrong, but I’ve worked on the railway for 12 years and it’s why I’ve observedI thought there would've been more seeing as Southampton docks is just down the road lol
That’s a fair point mate that maybe the case, we are all kind of guessing at the moment just wish they would let us know either way.I only sat my stage 1 on the 31st so not expecting to hear anything until the end of next week but for what it’s worth my theory is this......
Perhaps at this point they have enough passes at stage 1 for the stage 2 processes that need to be completed for the October/November courses.
And that the rest the of us will be done in batches in preparation for future courses, I seem to remember the advert saying that this recruitment would be for courses in 2018 & 2019......no point incurring stage 2 costs until you need to
Although I’m like you guys, I want to know how I’ve done asap whether or not stage 2 follows quickly or in a month or two
I agree. It’s all just pie in the sky stuff I guess and there may be no logic to when each paper is marked. I’m assuming there were literally hundreds of assessments or will have been when they’re all completed, so getting through them all is a mammoth task. That’s a fair point mate that maybe the case, we are all kind of guessing at the moment just wish they would let us know either way.
I have my stage 1 assessments in Crewe on 14th September. So I’m guessing they must have had 100’s if not 1000’s to get through.
Fingers crossed for all those waiting.
I also have mine on the 14th! What time slot are you?
I applied for Eastleigh too but sat my stage 1 on the 29th, afternoon session, and nothing yet, I currently work for Freightliner too so was hoping for a speedy answerI bit the bullet this morning and emailed the OPC about my results and wondered if I'd progressed to the next stage, been waiting over two weeks now has anyone else applied for Eastleigh? Reading through the posts it seems that those applied for Eastleigh haven't been told anything yet.
Yes don’t blame you, I’ve booked a hotel even though I’m on the Wirral just to make sure there’s no problems in the morning and I can get some revision done on my own for a changeI'm on the 13th but afternoon slot, ill be there nice and early cause getting the train from Wolverhampton and knowing my luck there will be a fatality or a points failure
Hmmmm when I did stage 2 on 4th in Crewe OPC lady did say they're really busy still marking stage 1 papers, plus all the other tocs going through same process. Don't know how many staff OPC have but it doesn't seem many. She did also say they're are up in Crewe for next 6 weeks doing stage 2 testing and we were first lot on 4th. All but one were for Birmingham and other person was for crewe. I asked j my DMI when they were looking at courses to start he said they were looking at a course for Birmingham and Crewe trainees starting 4th November. So that's probably why they were testing us plus ones who have already passed the whole process waiting for start dates etc.I was on the morning 31st they said we would probably hear back in 7 to 10 days, but the way things are going it's looking like it's going to be the end of next week possibly longer.
It would be interested to find out how those who got through to stage 2 did on the 1st assessment to give us an idea where we stand, how many lines on GB test, dials, DFFT, etc.
My stage 1 if I can remember:
GBT 10-12 lines on each.
Dials: got to q36.
Dfft: q14 (it was 14 or 15).
Gloop/ sandite one I finished.
Tea-occ: yellow directory i finished, pink directory I finished and think I got tones all right.
Hope this helps and hope you all hear next week as I'm hoping to find out about MMI and DMI next week too.
Are there any other applicants for Birmingham waiting on stage 1 results? My stage 1 was 29th still not heard anything.!
I know what you mean mate, maybe it’s a random way how they mark the test papers hopefully we might here something soon.I applied for Birmingham and sat stage 1 the 24th and still not heard. Feeling a bit deflated now.
Me too, still waiting. Are there any other applicants for Birmingham waiting on stage 1 results? My stage 1 was 29th still not heard anything.!
I wish I’d got to Q36 and Q14
Don’t worry when I did mine I only did 8 and passed. Took my time made sure they were all right. Not a race so don’t worry
Thats cheered me right up! Assuming you passed for Freightliner I'd say Im in with a chance! How many Dials did you complete?Don’t worry when I did mine I only did 8 and passed. Took my time made sure they were all right. Not a race so don’t worry
I have my stage one assessment next week.
I have realised that I have not done the driver fault finding test before.
Although I have passed all other tests including group bourdon to the enhanced level back in Oct 2014.
So .. I am guessing all I will have to do is the DFFT.
Anyone else in the same situation?
Thats cheered me right up! Assuming you passed for Freightliner I'd say Im in with a chance! How many Dials did you complete?
Me too....I only had to do two (the dots and DFFT) and only worries about the DFFT which I did 9 on but semi confident they’re all right. Fingers still very much crossed for all those yet to hear!Thats cheered me right up! Assuming you passed for Freightliner I'd say Im in with a chance! How many Dials did you complete?
