Ideally I'd have been given a indication of when or something! I'm just fretting because it seems some guys who were there on the same day have sat their 2nd tests!
Maybe they just randomly dealt with some earlier than others, who knows?
I know what you mean, that’s what’s worrying me most now. I applied for Eastleigh, so my other theory was that as a couple of others for Eastleigh hadn’t heard yet, Eastleigh was one of the less priority depots? (I don’t think there’s as much in the way of freight in the south as there is in the north of the country?).

My other theory was the alphabet. Again. My surname begins with W.

My last theory, and the one I hope it isn’t, is that there is less priority to let those who don’t make the grade know they’ve not passed, as getting those who did make the grade further assessments and eventually jobs, makes more sense. Not a nice way to do it but I can see their point.

I know and that’s why it’s an Intermodal depot I guess. But in the grand scheme of things there are a lot more freight movements ooooop north. I may be wrong, but I’ve worked on the railway for 12 years and it’s why I’ve observed :D

Seem to hear about a lot of rail freight in Crewe and York etc. That was my way of thinking....or train of thought. Sorry 8-):D

I only sat my stage 1 on the 31st so not expecting to hear anything until the end of next week but for what it’s worth my theory is this......

Perhaps at this point they have enough passes at stage 1 for the stage 2 processes that need to be completed for the October/November courses.

And that the rest the of us will be done in batches in preparation for future courses, I seem to remember the advert saying that this recruitment would be for courses in 2018 & 2019......no point incurring stage 2 costs until you need to

Although I’m like you guys, I want to know how I’ve done asap whether or not stage 2 follows quickly or in a month or two

That’s a fair point mate that maybe the case, we are all kind of guessing at the moment just wish they would let us know either way.

I agree. It’s all just pie in the sky stuff I guess and there may be no logic to when each paper is marked. I’m assuming there were literally hundreds of assessments or will have been when they’re all completed, so getting through them all is a mammoth task.

yeah would be nice to know as I work at royal mail and they aint the best at getting time off pretty near much impossible getting holiday when it took the test on the 24th i had take it unpaid so would be nice to know if i passed or not so i potentially have enough time to give work notice so i can at least book it off but if all went well would be worth not getting paid to get into a role ive been seeking to get i to for a very long time but hopefully we get some positive news when it comes to it

I have my stage 1 assessments in Crewe on 14th September. So I’m guessing they must have had 100’s if not 1000’s to get through.

Fingers crossed for all those waiting.

I also have mine on the 14th! What time slot are you? :)

I bit the bullet this morning and emailed the OPC about my results and wondered if I'd progressed to the next stage, been waiting over two weeks now :frown: has anyone else applied for Eastleigh? Reading through the posts it seems that those applied for Eastleigh haven't been told anything yet.
I applied for Eastleigh too but sat my stage 1 on the 29th, afternoon session, and nothing yet, I currently work for Freightliner too so was hoping for a speedy answer

Yes don’t blame you, I’ve booked a hotel even though I’m on the Wirral just to make sure there’s no problems in the morning and I can get some revision done on my own for a change

I was on the morning 31st they said we would probably hear back in 7 to 10 days, but the way things are going it's looking like it's going to be the end of next week possibly longer.
It would be interested to find out how those who got through to stage 2 did on the 1st assessment to give us an idea where we stand, how many lines on GB test, dials, DFFT, etc.

Hmmmm when I did stage 2 on 4th in Crewe OPC lady did say they're really busy still marking stage 1 papers, plus all the other tocs going through same process. Don't know how many staff OPC have but it doesn't seem many. She did also say they're are up in Crewe for next 6 weeks doing stage 2 testing and we were first lot on 4th. All but one were for Birmingham and other person was for crewe. I asked j my DMI when they were looking at courses to start he said they were looking at a course for Birmingham and Crewe trainees starting 4th November. So that's probably why they were testing us plus ones who have already passed the whole process waiting for start dates etc.

My stage 1 if I can remember:

GBT 10-12 lines on each.
Dials: got to q36.
Dfft: q14 (it was 14 or 15).
Gloop/ sandite one I finished.
Tea-occ: yellow directory i finished, pink directory I finished and think I got tones all right.

Hope this helps and hope you all hear next week as I'm hoping to find out about MMI and DMI next week too.

Thanks for your reply, I had quite similar results to your's on the day, I think I may have made a mistake on the DFFT I completed 10 and part of #11, so fingers crossed.
Good luck and I hope they don't keep you waiting too long.

I have my stage one assessment next week.

I have realised that I have not done the driver fault finding test before.

Although I have passed all other tests including group bourdon to the enhanced level back in Oct 2014.

So .. I am guessing all I will have to do is the DFFT.

Anyone else in the same situation?

I was in the same boat. I emailed the OPC regarding my previous assessment, their reply confirmed that I only had to sit the DFFT. I printed the email and took it along as proof. The only downside is the DFFT is the last test so you sit around waiting.

I can’t remember regarding that it was a while back. However I know accuracy is all that matters. Clearly you can’t be desperately slow either but it’s more accuracy than speed. Which does make sense if your in a real life situation. Hopefully you hear soon it’s a long time waiting!

Me too....I only had to do two (the dots and DFFT) and only worries about the DFFT which I did 9 on but semi confident they’re all right. Fingers still very much crossed for all those yet to hear!
