Has anyone any insight on how long the recruitment process takes?
My application has been at under consideration for assessment 2 now for just over 4 weeks,
Have I been forgotten about?
Is no news good news?
Thanks for any response

This is absolutely normal, even for internals. I've found that sometimes its a matter of just managers being available for assessments or that they are dealing with "preferred" candidates first

It took me 6 weeks to get a response... I'm now an apprentice with them!

Its entirely normal for NR recruitment. Even internals can take upto a few months. Its really frustrating. Taken 7 months for them to start working on updating my position from a created secondment to a permanent role and HR are a bit slow with just about everything.

I've applied for entry level roles at Network rail 3 times in the last 6 months, had to wait 7 weeks on each occasion to be rejected twice for "no reason given" and once because there were "more suitable candidates".
I'm not from an engineering background but I am from a logistics / heavy machinery 24/7 background. I just wonder whether I should bother applying again as it only lists the NVQ in relevant discipline as 'desirable'.
Is this one of those firms where you have to know somebody that works there to get in?
Has anybody else had this happen to them?

Depending on your age you could apply for the engineering apprenticeship. While the first year pay is low you get free accommodation and food for 21 weeks of training, and you get the relevant qualifications and experience with your chosen discipline.
