Hi guys. Looking for a bit of advice if possible.

I done an assessment day for trainee driver for MTR around 4-5 months ago & although I passed at national level, I failed the MTR level on the dots test (missed 3 lots on one line a few pages in)

What does the certificate they gave me allow me to do if applying for future driver vacancies?

The certificate says the following:

Trainibility for rules & procedures part 1 (TRP1) - Met the national & MTR standard

Trainibility for rules & procedures part 2 (TRP2) - Met the national & MTR standard

Group bourdon concentration test - Met the national standard - Didn't meet the MTR standard

Thanks in advance.

You can apply to any toc again.
If they look for national standards you've passed that part of recruitment.
If they want enhanced passes you'll have to do the dots again.
You have a life remaining for any toc wanting enhanced passes, I think most tocs look for enhanced these days.
Good luck.

Thanks Matt.

When you say I've passed that part of the recruitment how does that work if I ever got to an assessment day?

Also where do I stand with regards to a 'life' with TOCS that only require national standard?

Thanks again

I'm not sure if I understand your question.
The psychometric tests are recognised nationwide therefore once you have passed you don't have to do them again, unless they expire. The opc say they last 5 years but most tocs have their own timescale which could be as little as 2.
You would just need to redo the dots if you needed to get the enhanced score, it looks like you passed the rest to an enhanced standard.
With tocs that only require national standards you have passed therefore you have 2 lives I believe. With mtr you have lost a life and cannot apply again for 6 months to ANY toc.
Bear in mind that there are more psychometric tests than you did and the mmi which all carry this 2 lives policy, fail any part twice and that's it.

Also i believe, the first paper and pencil tests can have an enhanced score, but when i mentioned about the pc tests down at the opc, i was told they pc tests are not.

The pc tests can be enhanced depending on the TOC. I passed all the tests first time round and failed MMI, so when it came to resitting the MMI for a different TOC I also had to do one of the computer tests again as I marginally missed out (apparently they are the TOC with the highest standards)

I asked at opc, and was told they were not, but maybe he meant for govia, but arriva accepted my results too, maybe i understood him Wrong.

Trust me it was a surprise to me lol. I went there preparing for the MMI thinking that’s all I had to do and they said I had to do the joystick one again. I said I’d passed this previously for MTR, so they checked and said yes I had but was a few points off for this TOC.

Thats even more confusing, as i heard mtr were one of the highest required passes lol.

Just curious if anyone knows of specific TOCs that accept national standard test passes?

Seems to crop up quiet a bit in these threads when people don’t get accepted.

Probably helpful to someone unable to take further tests after reaching national standard and willing to relocate.

It's laughable

I didn't reach the standard for C2C depot driving because of my wav score now driving mainline trains (no other toc needed enhanced there) in the end it becomes meaningless

A bit mad as c2c are not as high as some.

Hello and well done for your passes. Can I just ask when you got your certificate , on the day of the assessment or at a later date?? Because I had my day 1 assessment for MTR two days ago and had the exact same result as you.
I passed Trainability for Rules and Procedures both parts at National and MTR standard but the Group Bourdon concentration test only at National Standard. However I did not receive a certificate that says so.

You apply the same way you applied for this vacancy, when a vacancy pops up you apply
