I booked a couple of tickets this morning via LNER for an LNER service.
Previosuly I've done these Print@Home for several years now (same service) but this time the option wasn't available. Anybody else seen this?

The old print at home format was very onerous on customers and is being phased out.

The best person to answer this might be @Wallsendmag

I suppose if this is a time critical issue (for example you are travelling later today but starting your journey at a station without TOD facilities) then a tweet or call to LNER customer services may be in order.

Curious as to in what way onerous? I use them all the time, and find them much more convenient than ToD. Also never had any problems when I've needed to change the time of a journey. (Well, beyond the usual VTEC/LNER problems of having to pay again and then claim a refund. However unlike ToD at least I don't need to post anything back to them.)

The old style Print@home had to be printed, passengers had to nominate a form of ID which had to be brought on the journey, and some TOCs made it difficult or impossible to make changes.

For as long as I've been using them the VTEC/LNER ones have just said:

"This ticket is only valid when presented with a valid form of ID issued in the name of the person holding the ticket: Credit Card, Debit Card, National Railcard, Passport, National ID Card or Driving License."

No need to nominate a form of ID in advance - they just make you confirm the name of the passenger as part of the booking process. (I don't doubt that it may have been like that at one time, but it hasn't been the case on VTEC/LNER for quite some time.)

I've had them from other TOCs too over the last couple of years - and never had to nominate ID.

I’ve always put a blank character in the name box and never had a problem.
