What's happened to the new signalling between Hull and Gilberdyke?

It as supposed to be up and running after the 3 day Easter weekend shutdown.

Whose mess up was this the contractor or Network Rail and who will be paying for the mess up?

Whats happened to the new signalling between Hull and Gilberdyke?
'indefinitely postponed', apparently because the new signalling system could not be
made to communicate flawlessly with York ROC.

As for whose "mess up" it is, that's debatable - people I have spoken to say that there
was no reason (other than cost!) to go with a new/unproven solution, so on the face of it,
it looks like yet another example of a Network Rail 'false economy' which ends up costing
vast sums to put right!

I understand the thinking was less to save money on this particular resignalling, and more to get another supplier into to market in order to keep it competitive. That makes a lot sense, although it's obviously unfortunate for the area that suffers when it goes wrong

Is it going to be another mini Great Western electrification saga? overspent and them usual word lessons will be learnt from this project.
Its now a good time for gardening so will somebody be going on gardening leave after this mess.
How much did 3 days of rail replacement cost as well as the inconvenience for passengers trying to travel anywhere.

The next no trains Sunday in May has been pulled then because the new signalling is on hold, will there be any implications since this has not gone ahead with the new timetable changes (if any )in May. As it as supposed to be under York after Easter weekend so will it mess up the signallers rostered working times if trains now run later etc.

That's cool. Where do you find out about all the dates and rail replacements? Or is it just insider knowledge?

Thanks.

Just on the train now and it looks like a lot of the new signals are now in use.

Who is the main supplier for this line, someone hinted this might not be the usual suppliers to NR.

Its Ansaldo, and unsuprislingly, the new workstation does not work as intended. Blighted by constant problems and failures since it opened a few days ago. Good old Ansaldo.

Three different systems from three different suppliers - what could possibly go wrong?!
MARK
The interlocking type is novel for UK, but the other two have a well established footprint in UK control centres. What are these myriad 'failures'? The final commissioning is next weekend, we could at least perhaps reserve some judgement until then.

Lots of signals going back to danger or restrictive in front of trains. Axel counter failures. Various OD crossing failures, barriers stuck down/up.

My former boss at GEC-General Signal, Cy Porter, in his Presidents speech to the IRSE emphasised the importance of managing interfaces, true 30 years ago and true today.

Ansaldo has a poor track record in the U.K., Manchester South was a mess and Cambrian Coast was very late. Mind they met the longer timescale suggested by my chums at Chippenham, experience = reality!

Is the re-signalling between Hull and Gilberdyke finished then as there is still old signals still in place etc.?
Has Crabley Creek gone to 24 hour working? or is it still 2 shift working? because if not the £50 million spent on re-signalling hasn,t cured the problem of Cinderella Railway to and from Hull.

Crabley, Goole and Hessle Road all go 24 hour in January. This will allow freight off the docks through the night, and maybe Airport trains.....?

Is it the same Asaldo that gave us the T68's etc?
