Freightliner Various Trainee Drivers

Hi guys,

I took my stage 1 assessments last week. Just found out I passed to National Standard, but didn't reach the enhanced level required for Freightliner so cannot progress in the process.

Does anyone know whether this will still count as one of my two strikes?

No it doesn’t count, as you passed to national standard

Same here!

Did have a feeling I’d failed the memory part, would be surprised if I done badly on any of the others.. Pretty gutted!

Same result. Now, if I am going to apply for a different company, I will do just the assessments I have failed to?

Sorry for the bad news guys. I somehow scraped through and have another assessment centre on 9th Jan... (eek)

Now for a relaxing Xmas without thinking about January! (not)

I was the same I passed all the stage 1 tests to enhanced level except for the Group Bourdon which was a Pass so left me with an over all Pass, but this doesn't count against you as you didn't fail it so no harm done just frustrating we didn't get any further!

I cant believe they are still doing stage 1 assessments - how many are they taking on? I did mine back in August and there were two assessments each day and 20 in each class!

Yeah, at least it's not a fail and some companies will accept them. Will be interesting to hear the feedback when they phone, it's possible only one testt could have failed at enhanced level.

Yeah most companies you will take the tests which you failed, or in some cases improve them from national to enhanced.

I think sick days they ask about at the medical.

Now I understand it better, as this morning I received an email containing invitation to stage 2 on 29/01/19 and also was asked to bring my CV and two proofs of residency at my address with me. Possibly at that stage they may ask for references.

Hi everyone, also took my stage 1 last Tuesday and got email today inviting me to stage 2. Which will be all the computer tests, MMI and DMI.

Wasn’t holding out much luck as thought I didn’t do well in the directory and tones test but guess I managed!

Any tips for these tests? Not looking forward to the flash images one!

Next in Watford on 08/01

Already on mate, started in November.

They never mentioned references once and when I asked my old employer they hadn’t been asked, I think they feel there own judgement is better. Good luck with it!

These are the MMI questions, I would think of two examples minimum for each.

The DMI is very very relaxed so I wouldn’t worry too much about it, I felt it was more of an informal chat.

Yeah got told the same in induction, it will happen for people in pools.

Yes mate I am, 6 out of the 14 are at Home Depot on our course

I replied to the “we would like to put you in a pool email, can you reply to confirm you wish to go into a pool”

I also asked them to confirm what depots they had me down for.

Makes sense as one of the Managers on my stage 2 was saying that Crewe and Ipswich are both very undermanned

From what I’ve gathered it’s more heavy haul than intermodal who are short at Crewe
